Arsene really doesn't like to travel. We wouldn't do any overseas trips if it was up to him.

The club would do well to plan a trip to the Americas. They'd attract lots of new fans.

I think it probably benefits them more to go to Asia honestly. Not that I wouldn't love for them to come to the USA, I just think playing a couple of exhibition games in the US probably won't increase their support (read: revenue) as much as China, Japan, Korea, etc. It is a little disappointing though that they haven't been over here consider their owner and CEO are Americans.

Well China is where we should focus. There are 160 cities of a million people or more, a gigantic middle class that is itching to spend money, and who knows how foreign broadcast rights will be sold in the future. From a business perspective, we should focus on China and India. They would still attract lots of new fans in America, with a tour, especially considering they've never really toured here before.

Here's another reason to do an Asian tour:

Yeah that's what I was trying to say in less clear terms. If we're only taking one overseas trip a year, I'd have to imagine the USA will have to wait a few years.

Well.. considering the same guy owns both of my soccer teams.. I'd love to see an exhibition between the two.

from ESPN soccer.. I just thought the picture/headline was funny..

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is plotting a summer cull of his fringe players in a bid to save around £23 million in wages, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail ripped that from a number of other people. No new news there. Young Guns broke that we aren't going to buy but one or two more because Ryo, Campbell, and Emi Martinez are all joining the senior side in the fall (hopefully with his play with Costa Rica, Campbell can get a work permit).

I figured that, as I said just thought it was funny, but then again I really just dislike Arshavin so maybe that has something to do with it.

I'm extrememly bored at work and got to thinking about the most valuable players to Arsenal this season. Where would my fellow Gooners rank them?
1. Van Persie
2. Song
3. Szczesny
4. Vermaelen
5. Koscielny
6. Arteta
7. Walcott
8. Sagna
9. Ramsey
10. Rosicky

RvP
Koscielny
Arteta
Szczesny
Arteta has been our most valuable midfielder by a wide margin IMO. Song has made some spectacular passes, but Arteta has been the glue that's held us together in midfield. Our record without him this season is terrible.
Koscielny has been our best defender this year. Been the most healthy and the most productive. Deserves a spot in the EPL Top XI of the year.

I have loved Kos this year, but the fact that he was so eradict last year makes me the think the presence of Verm has completely changed him.

Our defense and keeper have been stellar this year, especially when healthy. I think koscielny has made huge strides since last season. Him and verm pair very well together. I have been a fan of szczesny since last season, when people were still saying a goalkeeper was a must buy for arsenal. He has been extremely solid. He's young, so he has his mental lapses when we are dominating (see everton) but he's safe for the future.
RvP
Koscielny
Arteta
Sagna (I think he is the most valuable piece to our D)

This.
The defense has been fairly healthy, compared to last year, so I having a consistent back 4 has really helped create good chemistry between sagna, verm, and koscielny

I had Sagna that low because of the amount of time he missed with the broken leg.

Yea I kinda based mine off "when healthy." Without sagna our defense is usually very iffy

He and TV5 are a solid pairing for sure, but don't underestimate the effect of having a full year of English football under his belt. He's been our best CB irrespective of pairing. Not to mention TV5 played a large chunk of the year at LB where he was less than stellar.

Without Sagna, our attacking play is lacking. Theo's rise in form coincides with Sagna's return. People also forget that Nasri was at his best on the right, when he was supported by Sagna. Sagna is our most underrated player, and probably our best defender and crosser. He's also won the most aerial duels per game of any Arsenal player.
RVP is our most important player, but Sagna isn't far behind.
Next season, we need Gibbs and Ramsey to step it up if we are to make title noise. Gibbs has to get a better final ball, though he gets into good positions, while Ramsey has to learn how to finish.
We should have a rather deep team next year, so hopefully when our injury bug hits it won't be that big of a deal.

never happens. we always have someone with a season long injury
jack this year
TV5 last year
RVP year before that (and pretty much never fit any year before that)
then always the horrendous ones (ramsey, diaby, eduardo all breaking legs due to shite tackles)
we can only pray for a healthy year.
then looking at the stats we ALWAYS have the most injuries. even when other teams have their most amount of injuries (man u with 74 in 2002) we always seem to have more (79 in 2002)
