Amazing what winning will do. People want to be a part of a team with a good shot at multiple trophies.

David Raya is that guy. 2 Clean Sheets. Golden Boot last year. PFA 23/24 Team of the year last week. World class save today.

I mean that save changed the dynamic of the entire game and propelled us to victory.

Arteta needs to start Trossard over Martinelli also going forward please.

I'm having a hard time seeing how anyone can really compete with the defense all season.

White, Saliba, Big Gabi, Calafiori, Timber, Tomiyasu.

We literally only need these 6 all season. It is insane how good these dudes are and Timber doesn't look fit yet. Just absurd.

Even Zinchenko sporadically and Kiwior if he's still here. I'm in awe man.

I cannot believe these 6 fricking amazing defenders play for us. Luiz, Sokratis, Mustafi, Lichsteiner, etc had me near suicide a few years ago

Calafiori looks good. Sweet touch on his outlet passes.

Where's ole boy who kept saying Ramsdale was better than Raya last season?

Man is a stud. Clutch saves the last two games.

Martinelli has to be better than what he’s shown through 2 games. Really a one trick pony. Trossard is so much better as a sub than a starter or it would be a no brainer to start him.

Trossard has definitely been the better of the two since he arrived

Martinelli tries to do too much by himself, instead of not allowing the game come to him. Think he’s pressing because he knows his backup is overall better (minus the burst of speed)

I’m a big fan of Trossard but i hope Martinelli can figure it out and produce like when he didn’t have a backup to compete with for minutes

I still rate Martinelli over Trossard. Those injuries last year fricked his confidence.

We need him big this season.

Martinelli is much better on the ball (looks like he has it on a string sometimes), Trossard off of it. Saka and Odegaard can create, but Havertz and Trossard need distribution. Probably why Rice is so far forward—to help out with that. Hope Jesus isn’t out for a while—he can break down defenses too. Team has done a great job over the last year in shoring up weak spots at the back and in the middle. I just hope we have enough up top. Not saying we need a Haaland, but it would be nice!

Nketiah & his agents killed the NFFC move. Crystal palace looking at a loan + obligation for him

I disagree completely Martinelli has been the worst player on the team since the end of last year. He kills every attack down the left and seems to have an extremely low soccer IQ. Every defender has figured out to just push him to the end line and he’ll just run out of ideas.

Arsenal expected to accept offer from Crystal Palace to sign Eddie Nketiah. Bid worth £25m + £5m adds - similar to deal Nottingham Forest had in place. #CPFC / #AFC in direct talks & no issue anticipated on personal terms for 25yo striker @TheAthleticFC

Yeah looks like this will be done pretty quick.

Need to get a winger and this will be a pretty good window.

Maybe take a flyer on a project with a loan back if one exists

To be fair, our worst player is still the best player on like 14 teams.

He doesn't get any support on the left especially from Zinchencko who thinks he's Luka Modric. I think Martinelli will really kick on with Calafiori in the team. I'm not ready to write him off. He is also I believe the 2nd youngest player on the team.

I’m happy to be wrong but recently Martinelli has been a completely useless player. Lacking in vision and confidence. He needs more pressure to that starting role. I’d honestly have rather kept ESR to play that role. Or try Nelson there.

He's in the starting line up to pressure defenses and track back defensively. Arteta knows that Martinelli is great in those roles. Trossard comes on against a tired right back with less defensive responsibilities. It's a great combination.

That was me.

First off he didn't even have the best save of the game and if ollie was on it we might have lost this game.

Neto had several huge saves yesterday for Bournemouth and im not calling him the best keeper in the world. I just want a keeper to make saves when your defenders let you down.

He has made two great saves this season. One after missing the save I said he struggles with the most last season. The high looping ones.

My issue was with how Arsenal and Arteta handled the situation and not that they brought in a GK. We were not a settled team to start last season, and it cost us the title.

Here we are with a few days left in the window and havent completed the squad again. It is annoying knowing you have to go perfect to best city.

Clearly, the Raya weve seen the first two games of the season is far off from the unsettled player we saw in his first Arsenal games.

And martinelli was not the worst player, he gives a lot of defensive effort.

Timber was the weak link in that first half. Positionally he was all over the place. There was a moment he's standing in between gabriel and Saliba and Gabriel is yelling at him to push up the field. It’s prob why Zinchenko actually started the first game. Timber looked like he hadn't played in a year. Kind of like bringing in raya that didnt have a preseason with us and he looked bad.

And if we really wanted to get into it, Raya made more mistakes last season than Zinchenko.

quote:

On 24 September, Raya started in the first North London Derby of the season against Tottenham Hotspur and had a mixed performance.

We lost the league by 2 points.
