How about that refs have just completely stopped enforcing the kick the ball away time wasting rule for second yellows? They’ve given two reds all year and they were both against arsenal, cost Arsenal four points.

The blowback was so severe they just decided to stop enforcing after they’d already fricked us over. The penalty against Saliba against Brighton was universally agreed as one of the worst penalty calls all season. Terrible VAR overturn of the winner against Aston Villa.

Meanwhile Liverpool gets awarded a penalty basically every game.

It’s been an incredibly gutsy season to be solo second in EPL and third in champions league given the injuries and refereeing decisions.

I wholeheartedly agree.

This Arsenal Liverpool race should be generational especially 2 beloved clubs from the biggest league in the world finally winning after City's corruption.

Yet the refs have made it a 9 point race. It is infuriating considering how hard we have clawed to be in this position. I had a post a few weeks back of all the decisions that have fricked us all year. This title race should be within 2 points even with a game in hand for Liverpool. It is ridiculous and why you won't ever catch me saying shite about Arteta. This season has been disappointing but I've realized that 75% of it is because the refs have put us in such a position that we have been on an uphill battle.

Look how well we are doing in the Champions League with elite officiating. This is a fricking team of character

It is now 8 reds with MLS.

The Martinelli double red against Wolves

Trossard red at City

The inconsistency is what baffles me most. Wolves second yellow was more of a red than MLS for starters, but that wasn't the most infuriating sequence.

The wolves player kicking the ball away at one point on a yellow in front of the same ref that gave Trossard a 2nd yellow for doing the exact same thing. That is a perfect example of where the conspiracies come out about Oliver hating Arsenal. I mean come on

I wasn’t trolling, in fact you can go through my post history as I am confident that in my 15 years posting on this site you couldn’t find a single post that would be considered trolling. I’ve also posted in this thread many times over the years without trolling

I’ll give you that I probably shouldn’t have posted a to the “one of the gutsiest wins of all time” thing, I just thought it was a bit of hyperbole. Today was 100% a gutsy win for yall as is any match that you can overcome a red card especially when on the road

Also, if the season ended today, Liverpool would have won the league by such a wide margin because of Arsenal’s injury crisis and inability to score with Saka out..not because there’s some ref conspiracy against the club

Premier League refs as a whole prove time and time again they’re incompetent. There have been many times over the last few seasons all the LFC fans on reddit listed calls against them as proof City got favorable treatment. Yeah- Arsenal has had some shite luck this season with a few red cards but it’s not some long term conspiracy that the league is trying to keep Arsenal down that’s all I’m trying to say

This years LFC has had insane luck with a lack of injuries just like Arsenal did last season. And we are admittedly very fortunate to be this healthy while Arsenal has key players out as well as Rodri for City. We’ve had plenty of seasons where we have had constant injuries to our first team players that resulted in us finishing with less points than we were capable of. It’s part of the game- in any sport

ETA I realize nobody wants a fan of another club posting in here so I’ll make this one my last. Yall are good posters for the most part and I wish this board had more discussion which is why I post in here from time to time. Genuinely not trying to troll

Not necessarily a conspiracy I don’t think - just a series of decisions that no one else gets booked for, it’s a little suspicious at a minimum. I don’t think it’s the PL driven thing, generally just awful decision making from a few refs.

I don’t think in general anyone would be mad at the calls and cards if everyone got the same treatment

As a fan it definitely FEELS like something isgoing on, these PL refs seem like some of the worst in the world, and for the richest league in the world, it seems nuts that they can be so incompetent

I’ll throw this out there: Arteta doesn’t exactly seem like the most likeable guy in the world, and he’s definitely one to complain/moan to the refs constantly. That gets on people’s nerves (at a human level) regardless of the profession.

I’m not saying that this should influence the refs in any way, but sympathetic characters definitely get more subconscious leeway whether we want to admit it or not.

You are good baw. I meant one of the gutsiest in Arsenal history considering the circumstances.

Yall will win the league regardless but 2 dropped points by us today means you could lose 3 to 4 more games than us this season (14 left and I think Liverpool is good enough to at minimum not choke this away)

It just sucks arse this reffing shite. From our standpoint, we play City next week. MLS is now a very good squad player for us. Oliver knows this. He wanted to teach him a lesson. Oliver fricking goes to Dubai to referee every time the Premier League is off. It's fricking horseshite because they own City. I'm telling you this shite isn't a coincidence. We've dealt with being refereed differently than every fricking club in the league the past few years. Just today Wolves got away with Joao Gomes kicking the ball away while on a yellow. We got punished to the extreme for that this year twice ironically once against City with Trossard and Michael Oliver. It's the same shite in the NFL. The league is too fricking good to have dog shite refs. It's a joke

I turned on game and it was 0-0 but had to restart the wifi and then we were up 1-0 and tons of talk of red cards.

Objectively that’s not true.

Red card for kick away the ball time wasting against Brighton - 2 dropped points

Red card for kick away the ball time wasting against City - 2 dropped points

Terrible Penalty call against Saliba against Brighton - 2 dropped points

Terrible VAR overturn against Aston Villa for GW - 2 dropped points

Arsenal is essentially tied with Pool without those four terrible officiating decisions (and don’t give me the fricking “well they said kicking away is a second yellow time wasting” they completely stopped enforcing the rule to that extent after the man city red card because there was such blowback).

Liverpool also second in the league in penalties awarded while Arsenal is 15th.

I think Oliver is being paid off.

He’s given us 8 reds and city one.

He’s also given united 5 reds and more yellows in less games refed vs city.

This is bs. We also had players missing for your game due to these calls.

So I’d say you give us 6 points for bullshite ref calls.

Actually that means we end the season as champions because it takes 1 point from Liverpool.

Dumbass.

Wasn’t even thinking about these.

So yeah we’d be way ahead of Liverpool rt now without these terrible calls.

okay

Of course every example cited assumes arsenal gets 3 points in every single one of those games

And this is also assuming every ref in every arsenal game makes the correct call but not in anybody else’s games

Even with all of that….you saying arsenal would be way ahead of Liverpool is hysterical considering we have 1 loss

Also just for fun, here is the xG table on FotMob (with a game in hand although it’s the last Merseyside derby at Goodison so I anticipate it to be very close)

1 week out and still no transfer moves

We can’t keep on like we have with this group of attackers.

Havertz looked absolutely gassed at the end of the game yesterday

I’m saying they would. Yes.

We were winning the games before the red card.

You came up with the scenario that if the season ended today Liverpool would be way out in front even without the bad ref decisions.

You are wrong.
