The problem with the release clauses is you got to pay it all upfront.
So if you negotiate installments, that’s where they will jack up the price.
If we sign sesko and do like sane on a free. I don’t know if I’m good with that business.

It won’t be 93, I’ve seen 65-75 depending on the pounds/quid or whatever.
Not all release clauses are pay up front, some already have a payment plan baked in, so much up front and then a 2 or 3 year final payments.
Not happy about the Garcia thing, seemed like it was a done deal for awhile and allegedly Berta killed that.
I just hope they don’t take years to announce or do all of these deals. If Zubi is done, it should be announced tomorrow and he can sign all the paperwork when he gets back from NT duty. Merino was like 6 weeks from the “here we go” to actually signing, fricking retarded.

Doue was available last summer for 50M, we reportedly had contact with his people, got nothing.
Kvara was available in January and there were “no players available”

Yeah it sucks because I don’t think psg were that much better than us. Outside that first 20 minutes of the first leg.
But it’s clear we lack game changers up front.
Look at Arsenal women in the champions league final. Being able to bring on mead and blackstenius off the bench. The men don’t have the top tier depth up front.

The forward recruitment strategy has just been brain dead
PSG is a perfect example (now, they are a state run team and have unlimited funds), however they spent like 65 on Ramos, 90+ on Muani, 50+ on Dembele, 45 on Barcola in the 23/24 windows. Then they go and get Doue and Kvara in the 24/25 windows for 50 and 70.
I’m not saying we need to be spending the same amount, but we literally haven’t brought in a single forward since January of 2023, and that was for a 29 year old role player who turned into our most used forward this season
It’s beating a dead horse, but that is absolutely unacceptable. Why not try to find some cheap toolsy guys that provide something different than what you already have? Instead we go into games with 5 of our 7 subs being defensive players, and usually our only attacker is a washed Sterling. We didn’t even try to pull Vieira back, which would have been better than NOTHING

All that to say, we have to add some attacking depth, Arteta HAS to rotate our depth, and we HAVE to be able to play different styles of football than what we’ve seen.
We don’t even have the ability to chase games because 2/3 of our squad are defenders

Damn. Always intrigued by Mbuemo. He'd have been a nice little option of the bench that could start most games in a pinch.

I know people say be patient.
But these main deals should already been done.
And we have a history as a club doing deals after the season started.
And there was that whole January thing where we didn’t sign anyone and people were saying similar. The window just opened, these things take time.
Well he we are 6 months later still taking our sweet arse time.
