Wonderful work from Chuba. I haven't seen a lot of these guys. Nice to see them in action.

akpom was shite for coventry on loan but came back with a whole new level and confidence and play. he's exciting.

olsson is classy. very technically skilled. played DLP for our youth teams last year but is versatile. may not be good enough at one position to ever break through though.

zelalem is so silky.

i really like bellerin and toral. hope they stick on. they probably won't, but i think they'll have good careers in la liga.

Looking at CM, I'm really hoping we don't spend on Bender. I don't think he's the right guy. Never has completed more than 80% of his passes for a season (Flamini, for example, has never been under 80.)

I like Schneiderlin. If not him or another passer like him, I say spend the money at CB. We need a long term option there regardless.

Me too. Southhampton has been gutted. They will want a good(inflated)fee for him.

tbf, I would guarantee bender would have 80+% passing if he played for us. What's his percentage with Germany? The raw percentage numbers can be skewed by playing style/difficulty of passes.

It was kind of boring but a solid warm up.

I was just glad to see our beloved Gunners, any of them on the pitch.

I always like having a look at our youngsters. Less intrigued by the first teamers at the moment. Emirates Cup, which looks rather interesting this year, is when I'll watch the first teamers closely.

He didn't get injured, so I say 10/10.

Looked solid. Couple nice shots, made good runs. I'm optimistic he has a good year.

How did I miss this? Almost made its own thread.

quote:

One of the first half highlights had little to do with on-field action and more to do with a neat piece of interaction between Wojciech Szczesny and the Arsenal fans. Arsenal fans in the standing end at Boreham Wood's ground began singing, "Sit down if you hate Tottenham!" In response, Szczesny sat down in his Arsenal goal. The fans responding by singing, "Stand up if you hate Tottenham!" Szczesny stood up.

That's hysterical!

I heard the fans mildly jeering the other teams goalie by chanting "Ohhhhhhhhh" until he had a goal kick … so in response he kept fake kicking and wasting time until they lost their breath and had to stop and restart … he just laughed then kicked it

Watched the game. It is amazing to see how technically adept our youngsters are. It's jolting at times. I hope all of them make it at the top level. Toral, Bellerin, Zelalem and Olsson in particular are extremely smooth on the ball.

he looked alright to me. like crazy said, all our youngsters seem really technically skilled. he didn't really do anything to stand out though. i was confused as to why he was even starting. iwobi and maitland-niles are older and both really good winger prospects. we did fend off a ManU attempt to steal him this summer. maybe we promised more PT.

we bid for william carvalho :/ (an out of left field DM!)
