Wenger: "If everybody is fit then we don't need to go into the transfer market"

I want to think he says it so he keeps prices down, but really he says it because he's so fricking stubborn.

ETA: Context from Arseblog

quote:

A: “Look if everybody is fit and available we don’t need to go on the transfer market. But we have to consider that Koscielny could be a question mark with his fitness and we have to go out on the transfer market, yes.”

So, that’s much more of an admission that we’re likely to do some business – as if the whole idea of everyone being fit and available wasn’t ludicrous enough already.

Gervinho hates us.

quote:

“He [Wenger] never had confidence in me,” Gervinho is reported as saying in Gazzetta dello Sport.

“As a child I dreamed of playing for Arsenal, because I loved them.

“Now I hate them for the way Wenger treated me.

Or, not.

quote:

"I dreamed of playing for them, I loved them since I was a child. I don’t detest Arsenal because of the way Wenger treated me. My frustration is I quit Arsenal too soon. I left a club I loved without really showing how good I was. I am happy I went there and was able to work with Wenger – I never thought I’d quit after just two seasons."

Gervinho should have done better than he did, but god damn he missed more gilt-edged chances than Giroud. He had two misses against Man City in a game we should have won that were on a fricking platter. You can't do that and expect not to be benched, especially when Walcott was so god damn productive when he was healthy.

3 points! Finding rhythm at a good time. Giroud looks as if he hasn't missed a beat. Cazorla finding his goal-scoring form. Alexis still looks dangerous and Welbz deserved a goal today. Defense, for the most part, looked sound. Pretty positive results this week.

Good time of year to find our form with the matches coming fast and furious now.

Also: I miss those jerseys in the Gervinho gifs

Our communication needs to improve. It's like we don't talk to each other on the field. Also, we are still so, so shite on set pieces.

Great result but still kinks to work out. Can't wait to be disappointed in the transfer window.

I have been very critical of Giroud but he is playing very well in his limited time so far this year. That was a very fun match to watch today, too many frustrating PL games this year. Really enjoyed it today.

Wtf. Why can't we do this on a regular basis.

Still brain fart on the goal, but geez this is why I fell in love with this club. Just beautiful play.

Debuchy was great centrally. Bellerin dangerous down the right.

Giroud is spectacular. His touches are spectacular, his goals are spectacular, and his misses are spectacular. He's a fricking spectacle. But when he's on, he's exactly what we need at CF.

I really want Welbeck to start finding the net more. The numbers don't show how good he is for us. The goal that was disallowed due to horrible officiating was class finishing.

I love that Ox is getting a run centrally. He's so goddamn strong, even when he loses the ball he finds a way to get it back. He's emerged as one of my favorites this year.

He's a workhorse in the middle. It still appears that he doesn't look comfortable there, though. He gets caught holding the ball FOREVER and gets tackled or turns it over. He hustles back, gets the ball back, and pulls some cheeky footwork to break pressure

If Ox can learn to get the ball out of his feet he will be even better for us there. His flexibility makes him very useful for us. He looked pretty good there today, and I like his strength as compared to Ramsey and especially Jack.

The Alexis lift over-the-top to the near miss Welbeck over-the-head volley was awesome. Tons of short little passes, lay-offs, and 1-2s leading up to the chip.

It was awesome to watch even though it ended up as a goal kick. Like the old days. Hopefully, they're coming back!

Arsenal destroyed the Toons today. They had been on a roll and we crushed them.

Bellerin has to be the reason we loaned Jenko, Wenger knew he had a diamond in the rough. He played great. I'm very pleased and pulling for Pool tomorrow...

Yeah, but Jenko has been one of the better RBs in the prem this year and can cover for CB if needed. I'll take depth any day of the week.

Well I'm glad Bellerin is getting experience. He's so dangerous going forward. Very skilled and incredibly fast. I think he has far more upside than Jenks.
