I feel as though a 36 year old Thierry > Beowulf
And it seems like hes starting to resort to the hold up play for the red bulls which is similar to what Giroud does now. So you wont have drastic changes in strategy.
Unrealistic but a beautiful thought in my opinion

No doubt. An all-time great.

we're signing Kim Källström from spartak Moscow as a stop gap loan for the rest of the season.

Not a bad signing. Likes to shoot from distance, but a bit of a moron at times.

He's a pretty versatile midfielder from what I remember.

from what I've read on Twitter by people who've allegedly watched him, they say he's technically good enough for us, but might struggle with our/our league's tempo.

Did he just not pan out development-wise or was his attitude just too bad?

we aren't. his people link him to us every fricking window and we have never been interested
frimmy had a few injuries which hampered his development. never really recovered from his torn ACL while on loan with Wolves a couple of seasons ago. had everything you'd want on the physical side of things from a DM but the knee injury hampered that some. he needed PT to get more comfortable on the ball and work on his passing, but he never did it.
he was a pretty bright prospect but injuries pretty clearly doomed him. IMO its unfair to question off-the-field stuff with guys, because they all put in way more work than any of us comprehend, but i do think his #dench stuff and off the field persona at a young age probably hurt his development. he seemed more interested in being a badass on the pitch (see: his recklessness vs Nasri) than being an efficient midfielder.
barnsley is a pretty steep drop for him. kinda surprised. there were rumors foreign clubs were interested, but i guess not. beseiktas was linked, but they got Jermaine Jones so that probably killed that off. if he gets his head right he could be a solid Championship contributor and maybe even become a PL player, but he'll certainly never reach the heights expected of him when he and Jack broke through.
he and lansbury both are interesting subjects in that they show how key health is to development.

I'm not familiar with Kallstrom. How excited should we be about him?

pretty meh signing. he's old, but lots of international and CL experience. everything i've seen says that he is very technically skilled, but not the most mobile and may struggle with our pace and the pace of the PL. might be a perfect stop gap signing though in terms of what else we have to throw out there with Jack/Rambo ailing.
AW was pretty down about Rambo. I think he's going to be out at least the full 6 weeks.

Good passer, versatile, good at long-range shooting. Old and slow now, and he's been playing on plastic pitches for a bit. He's also always been prone to the occasional massive frick up.
Great signing four-five years ago, decent now.

So did Kallstrom really get injured in training today?

It's all over twitter. That would be some funny shite if it turns out to be true.
Posted on 2/1/14 at 10:06 am to PTBob
That would be the most Arsenal thing ever.
