Whoa 3 years? that's surprising for Wenger to sign an over 30 player.

Hell yes. He's been stellar this year. Swings in the best ball from the right of anyone in the world at his spot, IMO. And his ability to cover at CB is vital.

Sebastian Jung, who we've been linked to, actually has a slightly better crossing rate, that said, so many of Baccy's are brilliant but Giroud doesn't get to them.

i think 3 years is great, bc even if he loses a bit of pace in the next couple of years, he's an excellent stand in CB. he's devoted himself to the club. i want him to win a trophy so badly. love that dude.

i'll be interested to see our lineup. i think poldi and cazorla have to start based off their form, but on the road, we might go more defensive. also interested to see if ozil gets a breather (probably not) and if he deems rambo and/or arteta fit to go.

Sebastian Jung is a pretty solid RB, unfortunately for him Philipp Lahm is also a RB so he may have a while until he's playing on the NT

I would definitely be fine with trying out something like

---Giroud---
Poldi-Caz-Gnabry

up front.. but likely they'll just start Santi and Ozil again

he's probably praying that Low starts following the Pep approach

i wouldn't mind getting Jung in the summer then sending out Jenks on loan for a year. Though, I'd imagine re-signing Baccy for that length means we aren't looking for a RB this summer.

i wonder if he'd go

giroud
poldi-ozil-cazorla

probably not defensive enough and cazorla isn't as good at RW.

We're going with the Flamini/Arteta pivot. I guess Wenger can always bring on chamberlain, but I don't like it. They don't mesh well together

Today's Lineup:

#Arsenal Starters: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Flamini, Ozil, Cazorla, Gnabry, Giroud

#Arsenal subs: Fabianski, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Jenkinson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Podolski, Bendtner

frick no Ramsey, Wilshere, or Rosicky in the 18. This is a borderline crisis, could really struggle for incisive running from the midfield.

Hate when we have to play Flamini and Arteta in the double pivot. Makes us so rigid and slow.

Only time it looked good was, I think, the @ Marseille CL game, if that's the one where Ramsey started on the right and set up the Ozil goal. And it only worked then because Ramsey was a horse shuttling from center to right.

I actually hope Wilshere, Ramsey, Rosicky, Chamberlain are all unfit. Bc the other option is Wenger is focusing on the one display against Napoli where we looked great and not Napoli away and Man U away where we looked terrible. I'd still have much rathered cazorla and Ozil play in front of Arteta and Flamini and play podolski on the left

That was coming. This lineup sucks. The arteta/Flamini pivot should never see the field again I don't care what the injury situation is

Need to make two halftime substitutions.

Ox on for Arteta. Podolski on for Gnabry. Move Cazorla to the middle with Ozil on the right and Podolski on the left, Giroud up front, and Ox beside Flamini.

None of this waiting until the 70-minute mark bull crap!

I thought Gnabry was the only person that played worth a shite in the first half.

i think gnabry has probably been the lone bright spot in attack so far. keep him on. Ox for Flamini (unless Arteta isn't fully fit) at HT is all we really need. we've had some space to play with but can't exploit it with arteta and flamini.

soton have been miles better, but it sucks their goal came on a foul (and after a foul on Per which wasn't).

btw, kos has been fricking incredible today. tackles, blocks, spin moves out of defense, threatening on corners, probably should have earned a PK... he and gnabry are the only ones acquitting themselves well IMO

I really miss Ramsey's off the ball movement, and Ox's desire to run. I don't know when it's ever a good idea to play Flamini and Arteta at the same time unless there is a lead. Flamini plays the B2B role which isn't his strong suit, and then plays like a covering defender leaving Arteta to hold the midfield by himself. Extremely frustrating.

If there was ever a game for Walcott to shine in, it was this one. I hope for the next couple of years, all we buy are players who want to make runs behind the defense. As long as we have Ozil, Wilshere, and Ramsey, there isn't a reason to buy more no 10's. Draxler is the exception.
