Arsenal's passing and decision making in the final 3rd is just so incredibly poor it is comical. I seriously can't understand how they are so bad at making a pass to an open teammate 5 yards away, or why they would continuously force passes to a teammate surrounded by 3 defenders.

Bc they're our third or fourth team choices in some positions and have probably never even practiced together before last week, let alone played a meaningful game

Gnarby in the first half looked good, when he was out wide. Now with him in the center he's disappeared, that and he's tired.

Akpom looks aggressive at least, he's dribbling at defenders and trying to press the issue going forward.

Beowulf and Ryo just plain suck today. They look like utter shite.

Many of them play in the youth side together all the time. These kids have played against some senior competition before. Either way it is inexcusable to continuously misplay a 5 yard pass over and over again.

hurray for chelsea in the next round.

depending on when it is, we'll probably field a half decent side next time if rosicky, santi, others come back.

i really hope arteta isn't out for awhile.

We basically just won an away EPL match with our C team. I don't care how ugly it looked we got it done and it's huge for these guys like Akpom and Olsson

Oh my dear lord baby jesus I went to the Arsenal page at a bad time and saw 3-2 WBA. My heart sank. Then I came here and saw that what I thought I saw was actually the then current penalty score. Wewww.

I'm glad we won, but what did people expect? We don't have depth, and our youth ranks are absolutely gutted. We are a side in transition. We needed to give our fringe first teamers a full game and we needed to introduce some young players to the side. In that regard we've done really well.

I'd expect Bendtner and Ryo to do a good bit better than they did today. They were complete trash out there. These guys might actually get minutes in the BPL this season. They weren't good enough. I understand giving them time, but Ryo has been training with the 1st team an included in the squad selection for some previous matches this season. Bendtner is coming from another top notch league and is a veteran, I hope you can only blame his fitness or rust on why he was so shitty tonight.

As I mentioned, outside of Arteta and the back 4 everyone out there struggled to string together passes, very short and simple passes at that.

And who knows how long Arteta will be set back with the injury he picked up tonight as well.

You mean two players who haven't played a competitive game in months? Of course they weren't good enough, but they are good enough players to contribute.

Ryo's last game was in March. Bendnter hasn't played a full game since last October. They aren't going to hit the ground running, as both have had injury issues and haven't been playing regularly. Their performance isn't a surprise.

I only saw extra time, but Ryo seemed to be limping the whole time.

Ryo didn't really play all that well. He did put in a shift on D though which was important as Monreal got a rather soft yellow.

that's not entirely true for ryo. first full senior match in months but he has had reserve matches and preseason with a lot of these guys and has been practicing with the first team for awhile. a little rust is to be expected. it was mindboggling how bad he was though.

bendtner wasn't even training with us as of two weeks ago and was out of shape. his rust is a lot more predictable.
