You guys will probably gang rape me for this but I say Taylor Twellman is one of the few good ones. Sure, he's an annoying little piss ant but he is knowledgable, has a good voice, and makes good points during the match play. Plus he seems natural and not forced, he's good on TV.

Twellman actually isn't the worst in terms of analyzing the game. He just comes across as a guy who is on a permanent soapbox. I'll be enjoying the game and then all of a sudden I get 10 minutes of discussion on head injuries, even when the player involved is totally fine.

ETA: It makes him hard for me to listen to/take seriously. I know he's going off on a tangent a couple times every game.

So glad they have Jon Champion and Derek Lowe doing games. American announcers generally are just poor.

Holden has a terrible voice and what's the use of having Holden if we can't see the whole package.

I like Twellman because he tells it how it is and is also a pretty big homer. I like that.

Are we talking announcers or color commentators?

I've noticed Twellman has gotten better as a color guy over the last couple of years. The guy LSUMJ mentioned on the Copa broadcast the other night was money.

The Ian Darke calling tennis skit was hilarious.

He really has. It's just the fact that he can get whiny and preachy at times. People, myself included, have trouble overlooking that. He actually offers some insightful stuff, though.

MLS has some truly terrible PBP guys. I'm talking the most douche chill radio/TV voices imaginable.

The national crews are actually quite good. I love Twellman. And Stu is very very good. Alexi doesn't do games for Fox I don't think but he's fantastic too

People mistake disagreeing with commentators for whether or not they are good. If the are talented and informed and honest in their opinions that's all you can ask for.

I like John Paul Dellacamera. He knows the game, he's paid his dues over the last 25+ years. He's basically done ONLY soccer for ESPN and now Fox. Back in the 90s he was doing ESPN mid-afternoon filler stuff like Football Mundial, or the Brazilian leagues highlight shows, and the occasional European matches for the network. He helped make Tommy Smythe...

He has earned his spot.

Max Bretos is probably my favorite, he's very, very good.

For whatever reason, ESPN doesn't have him doing much soccer coverage.

I always thought Kyle Martino was pretty good at commentating.

Speaking ill of Sir Ian is blasphemy. I'm warning you beforehand.
