I'm a somewhat nouveau riche gooner-- started following right around the time RVP was leaving. So I'm not lifelong or anything, but watch every weekend and record weekday games...went to a game a few years ago in London.

Anyway, we all know the Brits are whiny socialists and protest about a lot of things. But it really is absurd when the club charges the highest prices for admission and doesn't deliver. This year, with Man U struggling a little bit, Chelsea being terrible, and Man City stumbling slightly, they were in prime position to make a run for the title.

We were told to wait because of the stadium debt, but most of the servicing on the debt is behind them. And now, no outfield signings at all outside of a meh CDM from Egypt in January. The club predictably stagnated in the attack when they needed goals or crumbled defensively against superior offensive teams. And there is absolutely zero hope of doing anything in the UCL past the group stage.

I actually like Wenger and still don't want to get rid of him. But they have to change the culture of the club. Not revamp it and become something they are not (Chelsea, Man City) financially, but be willing to take a chance on a big transfer and stop being a bunch of betas settling on exiting the group stage of UCL and Top 4 finish. Because this is bullshite.

Spurs are building a stadium rt now. The excuses have run out for me.

The mentality of the team is weak. That comes down to Wenger.

Arsene Wenger & Arsenal=Les Miles & LSU.

Same dilemma.

Will they win another championship? Probably not.

Will they win a lot? Yes.

Should fans be happy to win a lot of games? Yes.

Should fans be angry that they aren't doing more? Yes.

Are they failing to accomplish their potential? Yes.

Is the coach/manager stubborn and complacent? Yes.

Does coach/manager feel he is untouchable? Yes.

Would a change be better? Possibly, if the right hire is made.

Exactly how I feel as an LSU and Arsenal fan. While I like Les and Wenger, their stubbornness will be their downfall.

I totally get why Arsenal fans are frustrated, they have more talent than their league position would suggest most years these days. That said I think it will be awhile if ever before we see another manager qualify for the UCL 18 years running or whatever it is again

Yes and no. Kroenke is the problem, as he takes money out of the club and has not put anything in. Our commercial revenue is far behind the other big clubs. The stadium debt was structured in such a way that the board did not lose the value of their shares, which they did not. All throughout Europe, other teams built stadiums without the debt problems Arsenal incurred. The problem was that the board signed long term deals to secure the financing for the stadium, but some of those long term deals were quite bad (our jersey deal with Emirates was particularly bad). Also we made the mistake of naming our stadium after the brand closely linked with us, so much so that we have no leverage in the stadium naming rights, since the name "Emirates" has been linked to the stadium since the beginning. The more you study Arsenal's situation, the more you realize that they had morons in charge who were saved by the fact that Wenger could always somehow get enough points out of his team to remain in the top four. Now we have better deals, a better corporate structure, but one that is entirely out of touch with the fans. In addition, Wenger doesn't want to let go of certain players who performed for him in the past.

Of course it's warranted, especially after what Kroenke pulled in recent year.

Arsenal fans better hope Kroenke never gains those last 4 seats on board(believe its 4). U haven't seen how bad it can get, and u will if he gains full control.

He already came out and said he's not in it for trophies, we knows Stan, it's all about the $$$$.

PS Not a bitter Rams fan, been a Buccs fan for close to 38 years. As a kid we would vacation in clearwater to visit relatives and uncle took me to bucccs games) But Kroenke is the worst.
