As long as this guy is running the show, nothing will change.

Every one of his pro sports franchises is about generating profit first and winning a distant second.

Of course it's warranted, especially after what Kroenke pulled in recent year.

I get some fans of some pro franchises here disliking Kroenke, but I truly do not know what he has done to deserve it from Arsenal fans.

Arsenal have made 2 record signings and won 2 trophies since he has taken over. Until proven otherwise the lack of signings Arsenal fans want I believe is due to Arsene, not Kroenke.

Well he did come out and say he didn't care about winning and only bought Arsenal because of how strong the "brand loyalty" is. Comments like that aren't going to endear you to people.

But they have won and spent money.

People just want a sugar daddy, which is the issue imo.

How much have they really spent though compared to other clubs their size?

The point is there is zero proof if that is due to Kroenke or Arsene.

The record signings should so that he isn't opposed to Arsene spending.

Okay but between Kronke's comments about Arsenal that I already mentioned, the consistent lack of pressure on AW despite his underachieving, and his track record with his other teams it's not a crazy leap to think he's s big part of the problem.

Is it really underachieving? You could really only make the case for that this season.

I think there is a fear of replacing him, especially given the issues United have had replacing Fergie.

Which I am okay with, but it is still a leap and not something that deserves to be protested.

The term is only used by people in and around London. South London big time.

No one even here speaks like that all those terms the op was spouting off.

I mean, not really. We've had teams that could have won the league in 2007/08, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2013/14, 2014/15 and now this season. Wenger has made specific decisions each season, bought certain players, overplayed the first team players, had out-dated tactics etc. that he should be held accountable for. We should have done better in each of those season, but in each season we showed a weak mentality and fell apart when the title race heated up.

On top of that their have been numerous poor financial decisions made by the club that exacerbated the squad problems. We almost certainly would have avoided the crippling interest payments and the poor sponsorship deals where Nike and Emirates could pay us under market value if our board members had used the shares of the club to secure the financing.

Kroneke doesn't allow us to compete at the top level, as he has no interest in paying the interest on the stadium, or injecting the club with investment. He's fine with the status quo, as he wants to continue for the club to turn a profit, which we only did before 2013 because we sold players, and we only do now because of new commercial deals, and even still we are behind other clubs.

Kroenke didn't become the majority SH until 2011. You also have to take in to consideration the teams that did win those seasons. Largely why this one is the one that feels like the biggest underachievement.

Weren't both of these deals done before Kroenke's ownership? The new Puma deal is pretty lucrative iirc.

Aka people want a sugar daddy. Exactly like I said.

Was it Kroenke who told Dick Law to lowball Liverpool on Suarez? Or was that Arsene?

Considering what the status quo is about 99% of owners would be completely fine with it.

I know when he became majority. He's been involved since 2007 though. And each of those seasons we had the title in our sights until late in the seasons. We don't have to account for other teams because we lost the title in each of those seasons by drawing or losing to lesser teams, not to the title winners. So no I don't have to account for the teams who won the title because we could have won the title if we didn't lose to, let's say, Wigan away in 2010 (a 3-2 loss), or didn't completely come apart against Birmingham in 2007, or any number of specific games where we should have done way better.

You missed the point. The problem was that we were forced into those deals precisely because the shareholders didn't want to deal with the loss of value of their shares. They saddled the club with high interest payments and terrible deals. The Puma deal was good, but we've lost the ability to sell our stadium naming rights because they foolishly associated with Emirates before another name could be chosen. If I recall correctly, Emirates doesn't even pay for that anymore. We are still behind in commercial revenue.

Then tell me what the hell is the point of Kroenke? Why did we have 200 million in cash reserves for multiple years and not spend that? What exactly does Kroenke do? Our literal strategy for the last 12 years has been to have Wenger somehow luck into the top four. That doesn't sound insane to people? You realize why he was brought in by David Dein right? Because Dein saw that the future of the sport required capital investment from outside the club. Kroenke is never going to do that, which is why I'd rather he leave. The club isn't about "brand loyalty" as Kroenke suggests it is. It's about winning games and entertaining fans. Has anyone been entertained by our tactics since 2012? We've played horribly. We need major capital investments, and there are a number of things he could do that wouldn't involve a direct cash injection. He could link us to commercial opportunities, or help with infrastructure projects around the stadium (including expanding the tube station for the specific purpose of allowing us to expand the stadium even further).
