re: Anyone just see that Pulisic goal?

Would it be off base to assume that a less physical, slower paced league like Serie A could be a major benefit to his long term fitness over a season this year? Aren’t the referees generally much more protective of attackers and calling fouls? I don’t watch a ton of Serie A but plan to this season.

Maybe, but I don't think Pulisic's injury history (hamstrings) had anything to do with the EPL's physicality.

The league may be a touch less physical than the PL but it’s still very high level soccer. Esp with the top 6 clubs.

its still the same sport. CP got stomped on his ankle twice in the first 45. there's less pressing in seria a so the pace of play is alittle slower, but a challenge is a challenge.
imo, CPs biggest problem in the prem was his lack of ability to consistently get past his defender. he had something like a 44% take on rate at chelsea, below avg. those turnovers will be less punished in seria a, and the quality of player will be lower, so when that % improves, confidence improves, good things can happen.

Because they are entitled pricks. They enjoyed Pulisic helpimg them win CL but as the team management went downhill they started losing. And who is the first scapegoat? None other than Pulisic. He was always the reason they lost but never the reason they won.
You are so wrong on this it’s not even funny.

Sorry boss, but that honor belongs to Timo Werner.
We also offloaded a dozen other fricking players, including the guy who actually scored in the CL final. Did Pulisic score? I can’t remember….
You twats think CP should get preferential treatment just because he’s American. It doesn’t work that way.

No, just dragged them to qualification after the restart, was named man of the match in the second leg of the quarterfinal, then had a goal and an assist in the semifinals. But other than that, I guess he wasn't that big of a factor.

Why did the Chelsea fan base hate him so much?
I think that there were several reasons. I do think he could be frustrating on the field. I don't doubt that life long English fans (especially fans that are discussing Chelsea on message boards and twitter) were irritated by Americans showing up and prioritizing Pulisic over the club. But there were certainly plenty of Brits who don't like Americans, and even more who resent growing American influence in soccer. Chelsea fans were certainly harder on Pulisic than some of other players, especially English players.

I don’t believe this to be true. American fans tend to give him too much credit or too much benefit of the doubt simply because he’s American.
Brits didn’t care where he was from. They judged him on the same standard they judged other foreign players. Americans view this as “hating” because the American isn’t getting the most attention.

I’m pretty sure we are now talking about the broader topic of nationalism vs objectivity.

Milan also has some medical lab or something and probably the best sports science in the world (for a club), at least they did 10 years ago. Idk what magic healing juice they give those guys but when players are still playing well there at age 40 you have to take notice.

Asinine comment. Chelsea doesn’t even make it to the final without his performance in both legs of the semi.

Your opinions are objectively bad and you should feel bad.

you thought chelsea should have bought John Brooks instead of Kai Havertz.
quote:
Chelsea needs to forget about Havertz and buy two really solid CBs. Wolfsburg would be willing to sell John Brooks. He has a questionable injury record but I think he’s better than Rudiger and Christensen.

Right. This is the reason 3 managers limited his playing time.
Good grief.

I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone rely on straw men arguments as much as you do. Good grief.

What point are you making exactly? Are you arguing there is some conspiracy where English clubs purposefully don’t play Americans that they’ve paid millions of pounds for, simply out of spite?
That’s grasping at straws.
That’s grasping at straws.
