We deserve everything we get. The joke's on us. How can American soccer be so far behind? I don't even care who wins now; I am so disgusted. Thank God we play in CONCACAF, which is basically the Sunbelt of World Cup soccer, otherwise, we would never qualify. Would have rather just lost to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Disgusting.

Did we win the World Baseball Classic? We're only good at sports that we invented here in America (like basketball or American Football). With the resources and built-in advantages, we should "kick ***" at everything.

Dunking the ball on your own country for Europe is certainly a choice. We were in the right regardless of how the game went.

We didn’t invent swimming or track and field and dominate those events in international competitions.
And we didn’t invent ice hockey and just won a gold.
Soccer is different—it is more than a sport in the South American and European countries; it is hardwired in their cultures, equivalent to a religion. Most posters here, me included, are passionate college football fans but I’d wager that our passion pales in comparison to the Futbol cult.

I disagree with that. Not all schools, but there are a bunch that are every bit as rabid as European and South America fans. Hell, weve had fans kill each other over football losses. Coaches have had bricks thrown thru their windows after losses and thats just Bama fans.

The USA has pockets of fan groups, especially in the SEC, who approach the all consuming passion of the Futbol fan, but they are just that, pockets. Futbol dominates the mental health of entire nations in Europe and South America.

We played really good during the tournament. We just gave up easy goals to Belgium being passive. The mistake by Freese was the nail in the coffin.
I've watched soccer for a very long time. shite like this happens. This team can actually play. The players got too cute at times with the dummies and flicks. The talent is there, the application in this game was poor.
