I haven't ignored one "fact" you've posted. I've agreed with almost all of them.

I pointed out around 10 reasons why Liverpool supporters would have had no idea what kind of crap stadium they were walking in to. You didn't address any in that post.

I'm not saying Chelsea fans, or United, Leeds, Millwall etc... fans weren't/aren't capable of the causing the same type situation. It's probably only by luck that they didn't. If they had though I would hope they would take responsibility for it.

That's the point. It was a cultural norm. No one knew any better. Especially when they assumed police were in charge and wouldn't allow them in the stadium if it were unsafe.

Would you blame the passengers on the Hindenburg for not knowing Hydrogen was flammable?
Would you blame those that bought passage on the Titanic for not counting the life boats before they took off?
Would you blame those that decided to stay and died in New Orleans during Katrina for knowing the levees would break and flood the city?

The point is, a tragedy of this extent had never happened before this point in English history. Comprehension of the dangers involved weren't even know at that time. If they were known, parliament wouldn't have waited until after the tragedy to get rid of the terraces.

I don't want to say the SB should ban Hillsborough/Heysel discussion (because I think there could be plenty of good discussion), but time for people to just leave this topic be and focus on the football.

It doesn't matter what kind of stadium it was. I've acknowledged in every single post the other factors that led to the disaster.

What you can't acknowledge though is that they did know there was no room and they were forcing their way in. You don't get off by saying it was a "cultural norm". Just because hooliganism and outrageous behavior at football grounds was common doesn't mean that reasonable people don't know it is wrong and dangerous.

Of course I can acknowledge that. Go to England and attend a match at a normal stadium. Try to fit yourself through one of those tiny turnstiles and try to see around someone squeezing themself through one and into the concourses (which are themselves only a few feet wide).

I'm not going to continue to argue with you about this until you actually get some first hand knowledge about what you're talking about. You'd understand if you actually ever visit it.

Thank God you aren't in charge of Risk Management at the Superdome. We'd have no police or stewards anywhere to be seen because crowds don't normally do these things, right?

While everything was handled horribly, the amount of people going to a ground without a ticket should shoulder some of the blame for causing the situation in the first place.

And the main reason this is never said by anybody is because you are committing career suicide.

And soccer board suicide, but whatever. Glad to know there are other people that are able to retain a semblance of common sense in regards to the situation.

I don't really see where Randy is wrong here. If I went to a sporting event in America without a ticket and try to force my way in, am I doing something wrong and putting myself and others in danger? Of course. And sure, it would be easy to stop just me, but a huge group of people doing this, it would be incredibly difficult. Like Randy is saying, though, this is by no means the sole reason why the disaster happened. It's a terrible tragedy none the less.

However, since it's the cool thing to do...

Its a sensitive issue esp with Liverpool fans. Better to just leave it alone. Even songs other clubs sing about them they will relate to Hillsborough even if they are not about it.

no its not

its about Liverpool in general crying wolf. Fan behavior, players etc. More than a few clubs sign it and have others much worse that should never be sung.

You are missing the point, he is just using this to troll LFC fans in a thread discussing the FA honoring the victims of the disaster. This wad isnt interested in having discourse about this situation. He knew he could troll to maximum effect in this thread and went for it, like he often does.

Yea, sorry, using a tragedy like this, especially by a known shitty poster and shite disturber, you have to call a spade a spade.

Oh no, trust me, I know Randy's schtick. Most of the time when I see his inflammatory posts I simply roll my eyes and move along. But in this instance, he's not entirely in the wrong.

However, I do take offense when I see someone just go all ad hominem on someone else's arse. It makes it even more ironic that you then called out someone for not being interested in "having discourse" when your first post in this thread was

Mixed with many other incidents. The song was sung in bad taste due to the day it was on. The media esp skysports will tell you one thing but ask anyone over here not a Liverpool fan most will tell you otherwise. Also the media forgot to mention how it was sung in response to the Kop singing their Munich song during the game.

Like I said their are much worse songs like chanting murders or singing about 96 dead scousers on the floor. Which is just down right wrong.
