A win tonight is more important than keeping Mexico out of the WC

We're missing Fabian, Eddie, Landon, Jones, Bradley, Howard, Cherundolo, Besler, and Gonzalez, a win tonight proves that we do in fact have competent depth. It gives Jurgen a chance to assess our fringe players in a hostile, competitive environment. No doubt this is a pointless thread as I know our guys will be focused. Mix, Zusi, Bedoya, et al are concerned with securing their personal ticket to Brazil, not keeping El Tri at home.

I just think it's silly to publicly post that you hope we lose.

You acknowledged your sarcasm so you're good.

I can't tell if some people in here are serious or not but there's no way our guys are going to throw a game. Especially fringe players, like Jed said.

This actually wasn't a direct reply to your thread. To be honest, I didn't even realize you had started one on this topic. Sounds silly, but it's true.

Reading through it, I think it's fairly obvious that you were being facetious; however, there does appear to be a few posters that weren't.

I hope we play great and lose to terrible officiating, a hand ball goal, and herculean Panamanian goalkeeping.

Doesn't matter though because CR won't beat Mex.

I'm not sure which direction Costa Rica will go. Do they really want to frick up Mexico or are they just happy to be going to Brazil?

I honestly don't care about tonight's outcome, I just don't want Jozy to get sent off.

Any red cards/suspensions handed out today for the US will carry over to the first match of the world cup since all we play is friendlies until Brazil.

Maybe for WC but I'm pretty sure Rooneys dumbass got suspended for a match in the Euros for a red card prior to the tournament.

That he did IIRC.

Almost seems like it should carry over since it's actually the same tournament.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did, I just don't know definitively. We'll find out tonight.

I just read the match thread.

Well, I can you this. At the bar I was at tonight there were ZERO Americans pulling for US to lose tonight.
