No, it would not work. Donovan is not on the pitch.

I watched them play last night and he didn't start. I've watched a lot of JK-coached lineups that didn't include Landon. You don't have to convince me of Landon's importance, but like it or not, it seems like he's going to have to prove to Klinsmann that he's worthy of being in the starting 11.

JK's shite with Landon is the stupidest thing he has done in his tenure. Donovan should not have to be subject to that shite.
I am all for treating star players as stars. Bradley, Donovan, Demspey, Howard, and Guzan should not have to earn their spot on the 23. They are too good to not go. Obviously, this is a philosophical difference between JK and myself.

Last night notwithstanding, I think Donovan has been the most productive USMNT player since he came back for the Gold Cup last year. You would think, in terms of production, Donovan has certainly proven his worth to Klinsi.
Maybe he loafs around in training, tactical difference, I really don't know why it seems Donovan has to re-prove his worth in every new USMNT camp that he comes in to.

Could it just be than Donovan isn't in mid season form yet because the MLS season just started? Maybe he has a slight injury. I think we are overthinking things here.

Jurgen did mention after the game that Donovan was having issues with his knee. That said, he has added some weight.

The original post you wrote saying he was terrible... I responded to that one with the comment about him shutting down Mexico at the Azteca. That original post just made a blanket statement about him being terrible but didn't have any evidence.

I said, "he has looked pretty bad in his games at CB with the USMNT". I didn't straight up say he was terrible. I then listed three games, but hey, blanket statement. I recall him springing quite a few runs on goal because his bad positioning kept the opposing player's run onside. I also recall him ball watching a lot, but that seems to be a universal problem for all US centerbacks.
I'm sure you don't agree with that, though, and thus I have no idea what I'm talking about.
