This De Gea thing is just so odd.

Manu's whole stance has been that he's more valuable on the team now than whatever you give me for him so I'm willing to keep him and let him walk. Except they are playing his replacement anyway and now have alienated him to the extreme by essentially fiddle farting with paperwork.

I guess they have the money to do it but it looks like you just pissed off your best option at gk who can now just walk away at the end of the year.

I guess if you feel really good that he won't be a cancer and will ball out for you anyway you can do it. But it is just odd.

BREAKING NEWS

After Nantes confirmed the deal earlier, Chelsea have finally joined the party by announcing they have signed defender Papy Djilobodji.

The 26-year-old, who was in the final year of his Nantes deal, is Chelsea's sixth signing of the transfer window.

‘WHO ARE ROO?’

Wayne Rooney had not heard of Anthony Martial until yesterday, according to Morgan Schneiderlin.

Sky sources understand Manchester United will pay Monaco an initial £36m for the 19-year-old forward, making him the most expensive teenager in football history.

“To be honest, yesterday [Sunday] on the plane, Wayne Rooney came to speak to me and asked me who Martial was, because the English press had started to speak,” Schneiderlin said.

“I told him he's a great player with great potential, who has played some good matches with Monaco last season and the beginning of this.

“I told him he is technical and powerful. A little like Therry Henry, even if it's the press who are making that comparison.”

Yedlin to Sunderland almost complete... On phone. Very likely he could start all year.

If the transfer window in France is closed, how can Chelsea makes bids? Can they still sell players but not add new ones? Is that how this works?

Also

quote:

“A third bid from Spurs for Saido Berahino has been rejected by West Brom. Chairman Jeremy Peace is resolute that he will not be sold in this transfer window as his goals kept the club in the Premier League last season.

"And manager Tony Pulis has left the training ground and gone home already, so even if they make a fourth bid, it is likely to be rejected.”

I know this rumor isn't good enough for SCH because he looks down on ESPNFC, but this is sourced and not from the Daily Mail or some other rag.

@ESPNFC
Man United snubbed @BVB's £60 million asking price for Marco Reus, according to FC sources. es.pn/1JK8kao

quote:

Dortmund were not totally resistant to the sale, and quoted United a price of £60m to begin discussions, but the Old Trafford club were only willing to go as far as £50m.

If this is true, this is the dumbest thing I've seen in a while, considering Martial's price tag.

Correct.

And I really don't understand what West Brom are doing. They have something around 8 strikers right now.
