just 4 days ago MCFC.co.uk posted a longggg interview with Tevez talking about how much he enjoys the city and the club. I don't think he's going anywhere

I feel like I did after reading the W&L story over on the SEC Rant, except not happy

I can't tell you how much of my life I wasted on that W&L thread and all for naught it seems. Hopefully nothing comes to fruition.

Tevez's transfer would totally suck if it goes down. I've really enjoyed following them this season and the past couple of weeks have seen Silva and Balotelli meshing much better with Tevez and Toure.
However, as much as I love Tevez as a player this drama is getting tiresome. If he wants to go back to Argentina so badly he should go ahead go. I hope that won't mean Man City's now furiously packing up crates of cash in route to Roma for Vucinic.

I think if Tevez and Adebayor can be sold in January City will target Dzeko.

Here's my plan of action for Tevez:
-MCFC or Tevez's camp need to release a statement. Today.
-Hopefully it's just dumb, but City doesn't need any more drama. City fans have the LSU bug of "everyone hates us." Every week there's some new unrest in the City camp. We need calm. We need normalcy.
-Carlos is our captain and scores most of our goals. We need him, but if he follows through, we don't sell him to any European side and force a deal back to Argentina where he supposedly wants to be.
-Dzeko ftw

who do we go after? forward-wise

It's not so much that he wants to go back to argentina. He said that he did not want to play for an argentine team. I think his whole family situation is fricked up and he is just ready for a change of scenery. Assuming we can't resolve this, there are some solutions. He will either retire outright or wants to keep playing.
He said he wants to play in italy or spain. I looked yesterday at la liga and serie a sides with money to buy him or players to swap. Unfortunately, there are not many sides with equal player assets that would be willing to swap. AC have already nixed talk of zlatan as he is starting to mesh over there. Otherwise, the only other target I saw is diego forlan. There is no substance to that, it is only my thinking. That being said, forlan would most likely not be keen on a move and forlan and tevez are not equal in value. Point being, swap deals are pretty much out of it.
Next, we have straight sales. I don't have any access to what teams have cash to spare and need an elite forward, but I imagine they are very few and far between. AC is out. Inter is possible because they haven't had a clear goal scorer emerge, but I don't know about their finances or management. Barca is possible, but I seriously doubt they want to shell out any more money when they have villa. Real could be an option because of the benzema flop. Otherwise, not too many other clubs with the financial clout to pay his wages and transfer fee.
Dzeko or hulk or another upper echelon forward would be the target if we could get the sale done. That being said, I expect this whole debacle to go down in the summer. Until then, tevez will just have to do his work and be patient. It is a very delicate situation.
ETA real looked to have bowed out already. Forlan is also 31. the future does not look bright.
