Who is the white DT that tackled the LSU RB on that screen play with one hand.

That was awesome defense. He literally pulled that RB down with one hand while being blocked. I've never seen anyone defend a screen pass that well from that position.

What is the rule on that? Legal as long as RB is behind the line or just a missed call?

Thanks. I hope our DL coach can show film to our guys on how to tackle eligible receivers like that. It makes it really tough on the offense.

2nd string and arguably our best pass rusher on the D- line

Must be legal if Bama does it. No?

ETA: It's illegal but I was just amazed he was able to do it. I think he got the inside of the shoulder pads or the jersey and just pulled him down. It was very athletic as he was being blocked at the time.

In that situation, none of the refs were looking at the rb. We did a similar thing against UF in 09 with Aaron Hernandez. He lined up in his TE spot on the edge, and when he started to whip around behind the d-line for the shuffle pass, one of our guys grabbed the back of his jersey and held him up just enough to ruin the play. There is so much clutter from all of the players in that one area, the refs miss it.

He doesn't look like he would be athletic at all, but he's been one of our quickest guys on the d-line. We'll miss him.

Bama does hold then, just on defense.

He did look quick out there.

Was LSU's OL healthy.

He's been one of our best linemen all year - even the end of last year. Sloppy-looking white guy that just gets it done.

Nope. Don't have any allegiance to the Runts. Sorry.

The thread was about a great play by a DT from Bama. Not really about LSU.

I have no idea how much he would have gained or wouldn't have gained. You seem to be sure of it so I'll accept your expert opinion on the matter as fact.

Oh really.
