If he hasn't, there has to be some trust I guess.

Do you not know anything at all about Vladimir Putin? He has proven himself time and time again to be an untrustworthy, cold-blooded murderer, with no regard for human rights or the sovereignty of neighboring countries.

The 1999 apartment building bombings
The incursions into Chechnya
Aleksandr Litvinenko
Alexei Navalny
Yevgeny Prigozhin
Sergei Yushenkov
Natalya Estemirova
Boris Nemtsov
Sergei Magnitsky

That his untrustworthiness is even in question is bizarre.

I don't think that's how wars are ended.

This board is full of people saying Zelensky is in the wrong because he could end this war if he wanted to. The fact is that either side could end the war if they wanted to. I was merely pointing that fact out.

Is it likely that Putin would just decide to withdraw? Of course not. But it's also just as unlikely that a nation that has been unjustly invaded would simply give up when they still field an effective defensive force.

What would you do in defense of your country? Give up and run away?

It's odd that the Trump fan boys are trying so hard to blame this war on Zelensky when it is clearly Putin who is the instigator and war criminal. The level of willful ignorance is extraordinary.

You're being disingenuous for some reason.

Clearly Ukraine became an independent nation in 1991 with the borders the same as for the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic - including Crimea, which was transferred to Ukraine in 1954 by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union, and over which Ukraine continued to exercise sovereignty as the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Russia did not dispute the Ukrainian administration of Crimea for just over two decades until 2014. It has all been very clear the whole time.

These borders were recognized by the international community, including Russia. Russia even gave security guarantees for those borders in exchange for the Ukrainian nuclear weapons to Russia in 1996.

Why would you pretend that none of this happened?

The EU can't afford it's own defense without the US paying our fair share to NATO, much less supplying Ukraine with weapons and money. If the EU would start spending thier fair share, the couldn't afford thier massive welfare support for their illegals. The mud people would revolt! Trump is fricking this up. He should withdraw from NATO and stop funding Ukraines military, government, and government services. It's totally unacceptable that our tax dollars continue to fund Ukrainian government and basic services. frick that. THAT isn't what I voted for.
I agree. Get out of NATO and let’s see the EU get on their knees and beg for help. I’m sure they won’t be bragging about their universal healthcare for long.

I'm well aware of what the USSR did.
But the USSR is a dead country and it's deeds are dead as well.

Russia is reclaiming what it views as it's own going back to Catherine the Great. Israelis do a similar thing with Israel.

There was no USSR when Russia signed the Budapest Memorandum.

They have already acknowledged the borders of Ukraine. They are not "reclaiming" anything, they are simply invading a sovereign nation the borders for which they had previously recognized.

Why are you trying so hard to ignore the facts of the matter? All of your points are specious - at best.
