I said Trumptards. It's not Trump's fault you all believe everything he tells you to.

Didn't drain the swamp
Didn't shrink the government
Didn't build a wall
Didn't deport illegal immigrants
Did hire Wray, Bolton, Barr, Chao, Short, etc...
Did extend FISA
Did add 8 trillion to the national debt

Trump supporters...

"yes he knows all that but this time he really means it".

Maybe.

Or, he might just be setting up a run in 2028. It will be interesting to see if he succumbs to the pressure. At this point, after seeing what happened to Desantis, he has to understand what his chances are.

I think less than 1% of voters outside of Virginia have ever heard him speak.

While it's interesting that they are looking around, I really don't think Desantis has anything to worry about. There's nobody else.

Was Chauncey Gardner there?

What did he think of Youngkin?

Normally competition is a good thing. The vast majority of conservatives shout competition from the rooftops and have profited from it greatly in small businesses.

Sadly, the Trump faithful will shout and scream bc any competition is seen as threat. It’s His turn and everyone else should just drop out.

I just don’t see him being dumb enough to do this. He could be the potential front runner for the nomination if he waits until 2028. DeSantis was dumb enough to make this mistake but doubt Younkin is

Why do people keep doing this? It was nonsensical when applied to DeSantis and its nonsensical for Youngkin.

No, an ex-governor who has held no office for multiple years will not be the party's frontrunner in 2028.

what this makes absolutely no sense

They will both be out of office early 2027. That is perfect timing to go straight into campaign mode from being governor. It sets up perfectly

Liberal nobody will care they were out of office for a year and a half when the election comes around

No it doesn't. Trump is the only reason this election cycle takes up a full two years.

Literally no one will care about a guy who has done nothing at all in public office or in the public eye for two entire years before the Iowa caucus.

Its not going to happen. There will be other names by then.

If he wants to taint himself forever more with about 50 million GOP voters he should throw his name in that hat

How stupid can some of these politicians be

Really unbelievable

Trump is going to be the nominee and boys even gonna be close

Nobody even knows how Youngkin is outside of a few folks that follow politics closely

It seems some people with a lot of money can easily be convinced to burn some of it for no reason.

Might as well bet 10 teams parlays if handing Youngkin money.

He won't run. He's not that stupid. He will sit and wait which is what DeSantis should have done.

People think he's going to run after watching what happened to DeSantis?

He's sitting where Desantis should be sitting, 2028 pole position.

The problem with this is the gov of Va. can only serve one term. In Youngkin waited until 2028 everyone would forget about him by that point

You couldn't be more wrong.

2028 made much more sense for Desantis than 2024.

I mean he was just re elected. Serve his 2 terms, campaign like hell for Republicans in 2026 and roll right into his 2028 campaign as his second successful term ends. It was perfect and he fricked it up.

He was told he wouldn't need to worry about Trump (lie) and Democrats would be running a historically bad candidate (truth).

Youngkin is now sitting where Desantis should be sitting. People are running to him, not away from him.

If he runs he will be making an even bigger mistake than Desantis made because he can see what happened.

The people that pushed Desantis and now begging Youngkin don't really care if Desantis or Youngkin are ever President, they are only looking for someone to take out Trump.

Ridiculous. This is one of the dumbest things people say and keep repeating.

Youngkin and DeSantis could have both rolled right out of their successful terms and right into a full time Presidential campaign. It's not like they will be off the radar for a decade.

Oh I don’t think Youngkin should run. I just think the “wait until 2028” thing is stupid.

Who’s the last GOP nominee that was just a civilian for years before the cycle? Reagan? The guy with 100000x more name recognition from being an actor and governor of California than Youngkin will ever have? Youngkin has no name recognition, no headline-grabbing policies or accomplishments, and will fade back to the private sector immediately after his term.
