This x1000.
You can’t tell me every single dollar of DoD spending is done as efficiently as possible.
If you want to open the doors to cutting entitlements you have to be willing to streamline some military funding. You ain’t gonna get one without the other and they both need it desperately.

Wow.
Even if this is true, you never advertise it. The UK has become completely cucked.

Why don't you go back to your LARP thread and leave the fiscal conservatism to people that aren't looking for Antarctic aliens in Pink Floyd lyrics?

Why don't you compare that to what we spend on social security, Medicare, medicaid, and the numerous programs that started with the war on poverty.
"provide for the common defense" is in the constitution
"government pensions, subsidized housing, and government health care" are not.

the way we spend on our military it’s like we are protecting the whole damn world while they give nothing back for it.
We get more than you think. Just because our media is clueless doesnt mean our military leaders are.

You need to look a the budget again.

Most of the new medical treatments that they subsidize for their citizens? Created here. Free is great, but if shite doesn't exist, you can't give it away for free and WE are the reason most of it exists.
I've read articles about the high prescription costs in the United States. One theory is cheap/free medicines in other countries are possible because of subsidies via higher American drug prices.

So some other country can't manage their own defenses and we are compelled to run up huge deficits because of it?
Sorry, too early for bullshite that stupid

England has already surrendered. Sad when you think about their history.

And just what have you ever done personally to deal with the “big stuff”, yeah just like cadet bone spurs not jack squat.

Tell Britain when they lose 25% of their military fighting Iran we’ll step in then.... any sooner it’s cash up front.

Pretty sure that the point is " If you stop spending on the military, that is how things will end up for you". I don't trust anybody to come running to help us, do you?
We could protect ourself and not everyone else. Would save a lot of money but would lose some power.

Yeah there's no reason to be alarmed by our military budget!

That figure overstates their actual combat strength. They have 6 destroyers, 13 frigates, and a couple of attack submarines. Maintenance issues are serious across the fleet, and they have trouble keeping those few ships at sea. They have limited if any anti submarine warfare capability. And their carrier air wings? Scrapped under the austerity budget of 2010.
When the new Queen Elizabeth class carriers are activated, they won’t be able to provide them with an escort. They don’t have the ships.

But, some people think this means our prices should be lower so we don't subsidize them. Alas, that's cutting off your nose to spite your face because those higher prices don't just pay for CURRENT treatments.
They are why we get NEW treatments.
EU isn't just riding our coattails to get current drugs cheap.
We are the reason there are even new drugs tomorrow for their citizens to even get...........at ANY price.
I always point out to people. "Brain surgery can be a right if you want it to be, that doesn't create a requirement that brain surgeons actually exist".

Yeah our military budget is far larger then the UKs. Cutting the budget wouldn't put us any where close to the situation they're in. But cool let's continue wasteful spending

Yes, let's. How about let's be nasty about all the wasteful spending on stuff without a Constitutional mandate first? If we did that, we could afford to outspend our nearest competitors for defense spending, and still take a 25% tax break.
