The Ruble is UP 33% vs the USD this calendar year, and up 44% since the start of the war. It is up even more vs the Euro, GBP, and RMB.

2008, Russian economy got a major boost from rising commodity prices. GDP grew on average 7% per year. Disposable incomes more than doubled and in dollar-denominated terms increased eightfold.

The last global recession set off a boom for Russia, just saying.

The only thing collapsing in Russia are U.S. State Department grifters. Now they see Ukraine collapsing.

The best thing that ever happened to Putin was the West sanctioning them. Ruble Up, his popularity is up, oil revenues are up

You ever given an animal too much adrenaline? Does it collapse as soon as you give it to them? Or after they expend it?

The US government is quietly encouraged agricultural and shipping companies to buy and carry more Russian fertilizer as sanctions fears have lead to sharp drop in supplies, fueling spiraling global food costs.

Ruble gains vs dollar, euro show Western sanctions are counterproductive.

US and European sanctions failed to push Russia to compromise and undermine its economy and currency and also caused a great spillover impact on global food and energy supply chains. As Russia has gain ground in the game against Western countries with a stronger ruble, the status of the dollar is further threatened. The US is seeing its sanctions on Russia biting back on its own currency and economy.

??. So why was Joe bragging about the Ruble being down immediately after these historic devastating sanctions?

I think we can now all agree Biden sanctioned the US economy and is allowing Russia to make an absolute killing off of oil and gas. And not only is Europe still buying from RU , but RU has struck up new trade deals. Everything Joe has done has helped Russia maximize profits. Not to mention pushing RU and China closer.

It’s not incompetence. It’s intentional

It's all smoke and mirrors with the RUB. The RUB is being artificially propped up because energy buyers are being forced to pay in RUB. It's not a realistic snapshot of the actual economy in Russia. I assure you the average Russian is struggling.

BS

“The Russian economy continues to recover from the initial shock in late February and early March,” Goldman’s economist Clemens Grafe wrote in a note earlier this month. “Concerns about financial stability are fading, the RUB has strengthened back to early 2020 levels.”

Gasoline prices per litre, octane-95: We show prices for St Petersburg from 21-Feb-2022 to 30-May-2022. The average value for St Petersburg during that period was 51.85 Russian Rouble with a minimum of 51.70 Russian Rouble on 23-May-2022 and a maximum of 51.89 Russian Rouble on 28-Feb-2022. For comparison, the average price of gasoline in the world for this period is 121.03 Russian Rouble.
