I like Cruz also but IMO he could never be elected. His persona,charisma is just not there. He is easy to dislike. He doesn't connect like Trump does. I would support him but I don't believe he would win.

He’s made big changes the past few years. He’s much more loose-cannon nowadays. I think he’s becoming more-likable each year. He had an awesome moment the other day talking to the SpaceX astronauts.

I think its the pointy nose, people see comic book villain, caricature of a sleaze bag when the look at him. IMO after almost losing the election to Beto, he is destined for the Supreme Court in Trumps second term. Probably not for Clarence Thomas but if someone else retires or steps down (under the assumption RBG is replaced with another woman)
He would best be used as a Justice
