Once the ads populated, Media Matters edited and/or deleted (curated) non-Nazi content,
Wouldn't that refresh the page?

Specific to the lawsuit, does the fact that some real accounts saw it matter?

Not once it’s shown MM did this on purpose to harm X

X is not alone.

I can also confirm that Media Matters has purposely misrepresented Rumble. Their dishonesty warrants an immediate investigation at the highest levels (hint,
@SpeakerJohnson & @Jim_Jordan), and I’ll bring the receipts.

Here’s my statement:

They actually manufactured the story for the purpose of chasing off Xs advertisers.

MM manufactured a hit campaign against Musk and X, resulting in several major advertisers pulling their sponsorship, potentially costing Musk millions of dollars.

You don't see any legal significance there?

I'm no lawyer, but seems like what MM did was dishonest, possible fraudulent, and some people would call those lost advert dollars "damages"

My post was specific to whether real users saw the ads manufactured by MM.

It sounds like MM then pressured, extorted IBM to abandon X-ads. It did the same with several other companies. At the same time, MM aggressively pressured media-houses to cover the story. So when Musk justifiably called out the ADL as anti-white and racist, IBM finally caved. The dam broke. US media lurched into the story, and the other X-sponsoring companies withdrew in kind.
sounds like Larry Fink of Blackrock singlehandedly attacking Elon/X

AND GOT CAUGHT REDHANDED.

I’m not sure how dispositive that will be ... Great PR point but I don’t see the legal significance of it.
Media Matters implied otherwise in their representations. They implied wide viewership. They created the accounts, they knew exactly, or nearly so what the thread viewership was.

But the advertisers’ decisions were presumably based on the MM article itself, not that x amount of “authentic users” saw the ads in question.

We’re splitting hairs and I’m not arguing X wasn’t harmed. I just think their damages stem more from the publication of the article rather than if the offending ads were actually seen by the general public.

Just saw your edit… I haven’t read the underlying article. If MM presented it as widely viewed knowing how they manufactured it then it could come into play regarding liability and possibly punitives.
