Would you want your son to be a sports reporter?

Celebrating and constantly talking about other men’s achievements and having to be down for whatever struggle the WNBA wants to support.

If you’re a sports reporter, why would you be reporting on the WNBA?

A beat writer that gets travel paid for would be a cool job. But I can’t imagine telling any young person to go into any form of journalism. AI will absolutely replace basic sports article game reporting

I wanted to be one when I started college and after about a month realized it would be a total waste of a career. I was right.

If you can get a national gig it's great but in most cases you're stuck doing high school sports for a podunk local paper.

It is.

It just isn't all that popular.

I did it for years.

The best part about it is press box chow.

The worst parts about it are the crazy zealot fans plus getting to know too much about the inner workings and behind the scenes going-ons of the program.

Plus you work 24/7/365.

What an odd viewpoint to have about what a sports reporter does.
