No a dime spent on the wall. That's my wish. The Wall is a horrible idea.
What are some of your suggestion for stopping the criminal filth that is pouring across the borders? Just curious.
You do recognize the problems brought on by the criminal aliens, don't you?

Let me ponder that for a sec. I live in Arkansas. You figure it out.

Federals handle Federal problems and States handle State problems.
Then they all fight for funding.
How it works.

and that's why they've been tunneling in since they started putting them up. but i'm sure trumps wall will handle that.

Would you rather the federal government finance (A.) the border wall at various locations from Texas to California OR (B.) the completion Comite River Divergent Canal/ or Amite River flood control infrastructure project AND a major interstate project to alleviate BR traffic woes on I10/I12 such as the proposed "Loop" that would divert I10 traffic down Airline HWY instead of through the heart of Baton Rouge that affects daily commuters?
Border wall will save US taxpayers 10 to 20 billion a year for the next couple of decades.
Your proposal can be paid for by the savings from not paying social services to illegals every year to infinity after the wall is built!

this basically boils down to would you rather your money protect you or would you rather flush it down the drain for political gain

I was thinking the same thing..
In regards to obama giving millions of cash to Iran right as he walked out of the office instead of donating any of that to the victims of Flynt’s water cirsis..

Aren't there maintenance costs for the wall as well? It's not just one upfront cost and then you don't worry about it, like insulation.

I'm confused about why maintenance of Federal Interstates, and Federal Navigable Waterways (both of which are part of Federal Infrastructure) are not Federal Issues.
I voted to MAGA so we can (1) Build the Wall; (2) get rid of ObamaCare; (3) Lower Taxes; (4) Kill ISIS and salt the earth on which Islamic Terrorists Roam; and (5) Improve our Crumbling Infrastructure.
So yes to Wall. And yes to I12. Yes to Amite. If the River Runs through your state. Let's make sure your flood zones are taken care of. If the Interstate runs through your state. Let's make sure it is maintained - and usable.

the wall is fine in theory (or some other more effective version of "the wall).
my question is whether it is a top priority. I don't think it is, but now that we've met a stalemate on Obamacare and notched a tax rewrite, maybe the time is coming.
But, I do think there are a ton of people who are largely immune from illegal immigration issues who got suckered in to believing it's of the upmost importance to their lives. Ignoring, of course, that there are many many more takers among white and black Americans than illegal immigrants from Mexico or Central America.
As a result, you have "criminal filth" being used to describe a large swath of people who don't fit that category. Isolated examples of immigrant crime are held up as the norm. That's a dangerous tactic and one I don't support.
In truth, we need a secure border. But it's less of a crisis than it has been in a while, and the rhetoric often doesn't match that reality.

Our house flooded last year, we live outside of the flood zone (so we didn't have flood insurance) and both my wife and I commute from the Millerville area to downtown and back every day.
With that said, I would prefer the border wall because it serves a far, far larger good. Ideally we would do both though.

Y'all realize most illegals drive or fly right into this country legally and just never leave right.
We need a Wall. We need a literal wall. But we also need a figurative wall. And we also need a legal wall; that punishes not only the illegally immigrating with nothing other than deportation, but that also punishes the behavior enticing illegal immigration (by sanctioning employers, landlords, and prohibiting welfare benefits of any kind to illegal immigrants).
The literal Wall is a deterrent. A visible deterrent that shows people we mean business. It is also a literal deterrent in that while there are people who come here, then illegally overstay their visa, THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT SWIM ACROSS THE RIVER. Can't we at the very least try to slow them down while they are building tunnels or ladders or whatever else so we can catch them while they are slowed down and throw them back over it?
Speed bumps work in reducing speed. There is a place for them, just like a place for the wall.
A wall would be expensive, but not near as expensive as the entire government system ignoring the problem and now feeding, clothing and educating a huge percentage of the Third World. The wall would be worth every damn cent.
