If we actually enforced the law, we could probably contract the H1B program because the people who should be here on H1B represent a tiny fraction of who IS here on H1B.
Bingo.

This will be a part of Homan's scope right? It should be cleaned up pretty quick.

What is the functional difference between an illegal immigrant or an H1B immigrant getting a job instead of an American worker?
One is documented and must pay taxes and the other is not.
An illegal can get a job, and 0 out their employee withholdings even if it's w2.
Pretty significant difference.
H1b numbers are microscopic compared to illegal immigration.

Well, I tried to link the document for you. The calculations are laid out clearly, and the average was about 600k until the pandemic
Give it another try.

My old apartment complex didn't become little India overnight because they only let in 3000 a year.
And it's not like Lafayette is a big tech center.

I was actually under the impression that it was a straight lottery weighted by highest salary now.

Methodology is explained in 2.
Which is funny. Why do they need to devise methodology and make all sorts of assumptions for this? Why can't they just count the number of H1Bs granted and the number of H1Bs expired that resulted in the holder leaving the country?

Well, we bring in Indians through the other visa processes. I'd expect that Lafayette would be more student than anything.
It's not uncommon for a nationality to congregate in an apartment complex, especially students. Be glad they weren't Somali.

Immigration will always be a thing. No clue why republicans are fighting over this.

He's shown that he can't.
*And then fixed by posting the link to OBReb's source.

They aren't here to assimilate. They're here to take over shite.

Many leave before theirs expires, and don't show up in the AUB until they renew. It can take a long time to see that. You get 6 years on the initial, and can apply for 4 single year extensions. Also, they aren't guaranteed renewal.
My guess is they've got that 600k pegged as a target, and know that through attrition or even eventual conversion to permanent resident 85k is the number that roughly equals the churn.

Not the hotels. Indians usually live in the ones they own. They don't rent apartments when they own hotels. Cstore owners probably do.
I don't mind business owners much either, but these guys are also the ones that cause most of the problems that people associate with Indian immigrants. They commit shitloads of wage and hour violations.
They don't commit any violent crime, though, so we end up favoring them over a lot of countries.

They aren't going to take over anything by buying Cstores, except for some more Cstores.

Not the hotels. Indians usually live in the ones they own. They don't rent apartments when they own hotels.
As for the convenience store personnel, they have been a drain on the average Joe because the formula has been to take over and jack the prices way up because people are willing to pay more for convenience. This causes companies in general to jack up their prices because they now know they can get away with it.
And that's how you get $2.35 20oz Sprites.
