You kill Hitler you effectively prevent many more than 4 million lives from ever existing. Not sure if that is murder but in a way it is.

If you have a family you are likly to never see your kids again of you do this. No thanks

I've heard people say how dropping the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was justified, because it ended a war that would have costed a multitude of more lives if extended.
So if you could get into a time machine and kill baby Hitler, would you?

What if you went back and prevented the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and thus prevented the spark of WWI?

Eliminating Hitler doesn't eliminate the sociopolitical context of Germany post-WWI that made them susceptible to authoritarian leadership. Eliminating Hitler very well may have resulted in some other person or radical ideology seizing Germany. What if Germany was then overtaken by Communist revolutionaries loyal to Moscow? You may create a worse scenario in the end. People exist and operate in certain conditions. The conditions are often as important as an individual leader.

No, the world needed to see a man like this to ensure another never can do what he did. If he was killed then another will take his place until we learn.

Catch 22.

Killing Hitler as an infant may not change things as far as World War I and Germany's subsequent troubles. However having Hitler missing at that point in history could be a catalyst for having an even greater monster taking power at some point and succeeding where Hitler didn't.

So, unless you return to find things are actually worse, which would mean you have to go back in time again to stop yourself from killing baby Hitler, then its best not not frick with history in the first place.

That wouldn't necessarily change anything. The Canadians elected a drama teacher with similar leanings.

Can we just go back and convince him to not invade Russia? You know, asking for a blue-eyed, blond-haired friend.

It would cause a ripple in the space time continuum that would be far far worse than what Hitler did IMHO.

It was also a question first posed to the masses in Dead Zone.

No, I wouldn't do it but I do like the idea of just letting him into art school.
