I can't worry about that now. I only plan my life for 2 weeks ahead.

This is why your boycott would fail. Just stop utilizing products and services that you disagree with politically. If you can't boycott 100%, simply reduce your utilization the bare minimum. It worked before, it can work now, and it will work again.

Before a recession, no. During a recession, probably. Investors enjoy their money.

Just read the week part. No it would need to be a quarter at the very least, more probably a year.

I’m all for boycots. I’ve purged my house from as many Disney products as possible (But I just reminded myself that I need to find an alternative to Hulu.)

Uh, Disney had a fantastic quarterly earnings in Q3. They're doing very well - it seems like the 'vocal' internet users boycotting Disney aren't the vast majority of Americans/people.

Stop looking at this as a boycott. If you no longer want to do business with a company, an organization, a person, etc...stop. Simply walk away from them.

This gets trickier when we're talking about a NEED versus a WANT and that company is the only game in town. That said, start small. make a decision to spend >50% of your money on companies that don't openly state they hate people like you. Also decide what things are wants and which are needs and act accordingly...keeping in mind entertainment is the easiest thing to give up. If that works, do more.

Doing any of this is order to teach them a lesson in the hopes that they'll change behavior is both, I think, a fool's errand and deciding that they can be redeemed. these companies have lost my money forever...and short of huge apologies and open acceptances and explanations of how they were wrong, they'll never get any of it again. And I have ZERO reason to think that will ever take place.

It cost P&G over 5 billion

quote:

Procter & Gamble has reported a net loss of $5.24 billion, prompting speculation as to whether a boycott of the company’s Gillette shaving products after a divisive ‘woke’ ad campaign hit the company’s bottom line.

The ad, entitled ‘We Believe’, was released in January. It asked men to “shave their toxic masculinity,” while blaming an entire gender for the actions of a small percentage of sexual abusers, rapists and perverts.

The commercial alternated between echoing glib feminist talking points and bashing men, while also featuring a clip from left-wing news outlet The Young Turks.

The ad was so despised, it went on to become one of the most hated ads in Internet history.

It has now been revealed that Procter & Gamble took an $8 billion writedown on its Gillette shaving business, contributing to “a net loss of about $5.24 billion, or $2.12 per share, for the quarter ended June 30.”

This woke bull shite is all related to ESG idiocy invented by a bunch of globalists who want to boss everyone around. ESG permits these large businesses to access $$$

This is the correct answer. Access to capital negates even multi million $ losses.

Not true... I gave up very good season tickets (Football, Softball, Basketball, and Baseball) because some of the woke crap UA was pulling...

Not saying I won't watch a college game if I am at home and nothing else is going on but I don't watch 1/3 as many games as I once did...

I say this will all honesty, I'd rather get leftover recruits than bow to the woke/PC shite. Couldn't have been prouder when Harsin had his players take the field with a HUGE Old Glory! Somethings are just way more important.

I've got a location a couple of miles from my house. Good for a quick bite to eat. Used to get some sandwiches a couple of times a month, but not since Rapinoe started pushing their brand.

I started doing that 6 months to a year ago. I just buy the H-E-B cola and their version of DR Pepper. Not only is it a lot cheaper but the taste difference is not very noticeable.

I get the feeling that Netflix backed off some of their most egregious projects as a result of market pressure.

I think they backed off because they started losing subscribers because their content started to suck, so they have data that shows them who watches what, and had to cut costs so they cut the categories of bullshite that nobody watches. Which just so happened to be the woke bullshite that most people, including liberals, didn't care to watch. I don't necessarily think they cut the content because they knew if was bullshite, I think they simply used an objective metric of what people actually watch on their platform, and culled the bottom shite. And that just happened to be the wokest stuff.
