It’s just competition, for money. Which is true for all media on both sides. There’s no way they’re letting anyone beat them on a big story if they can help it. They know about the memo, it isn’t a secret. And yet.....?
I wish they’d go after the slush fund, and yeah I could see CNN taking that angle. Fox as well if roles were reversed.

That said - if members of the Obama administration used the powers of the executive branch to spy on the opposing political party by using false and unverifiable information to monitor phone calls - Watergate involving a misdemeanor burglary, is bush league. Or you know, as King Barack would say, JV league.
It is amazing how many people think that Watergate was just a hotel break-in.

I’m saying if it had legs we’d know it, all of us. Everyone would be talking about it, a lot. It’s really that simple.

You and I both know that CNN, MSNBC, the networks, the Wapo, and the NYT won't run anything that could seriously harm the electoral prospects of democrats.
Like stories of Hillary's scrubbed server and deleted emails, which they all ran stories on?

Watergate paled in comparison to the IRS scandal under Obama.
Our media acted as if nothing happened.

It was the after cover up that got Nixon in trouble.
If the worse of the rumors are true in muh russian story and the DoJ and top FBI aided BHO and HRC then yes it is worse. Long way to go to get there yet.

Being willfully stupid is no way to go through life. Lindsey Graham read the findings and called for a criminal investigation. Republicans will release the findings with or with out Dems consent. You always try to do it the proper way out the gate. Is anyone really denying Fusion GPS paid Chris Steele for fake Dossier at this point?

Regarding the slush fund: I think we can agree that neither side wants to touch it because Rs and Ds are involved.
This is a huge story that went "poof" right in the midst of #metoo.
That's unforgivable to me.
It tells me that there are no legitimate news sources left. Someone is getting to them and asking them to tiptoe past the issue.
That is completely fricked.

Watergate was a hotel break in that attempted to steal campaign info from
Democrats.
Then the R Government in power hid their spying by use of government power.
Obama used the IRS to slow walk political speech, on purpose. Because those dickheads believe that they know what’s best for everyone, and they honestly are so deluded that they believe that people who believe in individual liberty are “radical.” Thy have repeatedly fricking said so by words (deplorable) and actions (IRS crap).
Believing that those same assholes that worked for Obama wouldn’t be so blinded by their own hubris to obtain a warrant under false pretenses in their superhero I’m gonna show off for my ugly girlfriend fantasy, to save the rest of us from ourselves is not a huge logical leap.
It’s the very reason conservatives find Progressives terrifying. They have contempt for Americans, they are totalitarian, and they are just assholes.

I’M willfully stupid? Lol.
You’ve convinced yourself there’s a scandal “bigger than watergate” happening and it totally makes sense that only the fringe media is talking about it???? Can anybody point to anywhere in our history where something this big has happened and the majority of the media simply ignored it???
Good grief. I understand only accepting only what you want to hear to a certain extent but at some point.....

It would probably hurt too many on both sides, which is shitty because those people need to be outed.

Given the state of the free press in this country it's not all that shocking some news outlets are choosing to ignore the story until they have no other choice.
As arguments go, on this matter, media reaction is not the barometer you believe it to be.

Right.
That's why the press sucks and many of us look at them with disdain.
I don't know the solution because the commercialization of 24-hour news and the further liberalization of news, in general, has spun out of control. That's just my opinion and you may not agree.
We can't get on the same page if we don't trust the same info all the time.
I guess, because I remember life before commercialized news, that I am very suspect of what Fox and CNN are doing.

Flat wrong. I do it literally all the time w the sensationalists threads that get started daily on this board. “Breaking”, “Dems are fricked this time!”, “Say your prayers, Dems!”, etc.
It’s proven to sift out the actual news and what’s for the birds accurately 100% of the time.
But you’re right, I’m sure it’s different this time.....

That only works if the msm isn't propaganda.
Lib outlets have two modes of attack against any damaging news..
it's either completely shield and protect the democrats, by smearing the frick out of everyone else.
Or..
Ignore the story and hope it goes away.

I agree that there was some seriously shady stuff (likely criminal) going on during O’s admin, but I disagree that this “memo” will incriminate anyone. I think some folks like the rush of the tick-tock (on both sides), probably something to do with adrenaline or self-assurance. You probably can see similar psychological characteristics in people watching a WWE match.

To be fair, I read a catherine herridge article on this issue either last night or this morning.
She works for Fox
I dont Care if she worked for Mother Jones. When she reports something, you can take that to the bank.

Your entire premise and position is misguided. Whether it's intentional or not only you know but sticking your head in the sand based on the past is not the road to enlightenment.

How many investigative reporters did they assign to dig into the issue full time?
Now how many reporters did they assign to go down to Alabama and find out if Roy Moore dated young legal aged women?
