Tear gas would be all but worthless in combat. Also, frick geneva.

Good for them. What are they supposed to do for crowd control if/when an entire mob of unruly people start bearing down on them or the property? Just stand there with a billy club and try to fend for themselves against hundreds?
I wouldn't put my life on the line to protect the DNC, especially when it's their constituents that believe the police are the enemy and are calling to defund them. Then you take away one of the best ways to disperse an unruly crowd on top of that? Fuuuuuuck that.

It's perfectly legal and one of the least harmful ways to disperse an unruly crowd, dipshit.
I'm guessing you've never been part of a security team or law enforcement that is charged with crowd control and event security - as a Federal Officer I have on a couple occasions.
Something tells me if you were, the moment anything as much as a loud sneeze popped off you'd be the first to start cowering and throwing everything you had to protect yourself.
How about you actually hold these rioters accountable for their actions? Protest peacefully all day, but when you start rioting and getting destructive you should EXPECT to be met with dispersal techniques like teargas.
