It's not that I don't want to get one. It's that I don't want to go to the DMV and go through the pointless process of providing pieces of paper anyone could forge to get this "real id". I have a Passport, TWIC, Clear, Global Entry.
What do you need the Real ID for? to fly? I'd rather bring my passport everytime i fly than go wait at the DMV one time to get this Real ID.

Its a good point. If you dont need it then just wait until its time to renew.

but you renew online and don't have to go to the DMV, which is why i don't have a real id despite the fact that it's been offered for years.
I'm not going to the DMV if i don't have to.
Hell i don't even carry my license with me most of the time since we have it digitally in LA. the only time it's in my phone/wallet is when i'm travelling and renting a car.

All Texas licenses have qualified for several years now. You didn't get a license without it being a real ID

It's the little gold star on your license in the top right corner. Texas has been issuing them since 2016. Someone at your office should have been able to tell you that, you see them so often.

A TWIC card is also has a TSA-Precheck number! You enter that number in when booking a flight and you're good! Lotta people don't know that shite.

Most people already have a real ID and don’t even know it.
If you’re in Louisiana, look in top right corner. If you see a yellow star, that’s a real ID.
