Voting is a privilege. Those who really need gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooberment will generally be the more motivated voters.

They will cheat, lie, and steal for those handouts knowing the plantation is getting bigger and bigger with less revenue to sustain it.

Last Sunday on whatever talk show she is on Donna Brazil said the Democrats were poised to take Mississippi in the 2024 election.

If by "property owners" you mean free and clear with no mortgage, I agree with you.

Should a renter be able to vote on issues effecting the taxation of property owners, nope they should not.

Why not? Plenty of people in Congress who will never ever need to rely on Medicare and Social Security vote on its fate.

I pay plenty in taxes. My skin is well within the game. The idea that because boomers were able to by their house for 3 bucks and a pack of gum back in the 90s they're somehow entitled to more rights than anyone else is retarded.

Those on welfare should not be able to vote change my mind. Should be a stipulation you sign when agreeing to accept the checks.

My family long time republicans and their very conservative friends are voting for Presley. These same people travel to the events ( all are retired) in Jackson listening to all the politicians.

Sure you would lose some freedom by being on the government tit but there is no doubt it’s a huge conflict of interest when you contribute nothing to society and have a say in matters that affect others when you are not capable of supporting yourself. It’s the sole reason the dems have amassed what they have. They have a 100% dependent voting block that will never endanger their free loading way of life by voting for someone that would cut their gov subsidies

Good Lord how any decent person in the Jackson area could vote Democrat is mind boggling. Mayor Unga Bunga and his band of flunkies have done such a bang up job they make nola look good.

Tate won over a lot of people that either didn’t like him or were indifferent to him with his first term. He did a lot of great things.

And his campaign message has been simple and very effective. Do you want someone who will vote in lock step with Biden and the insane democrats or someone who will keep Mississippi conservative. Easy choice for most Mississippians.

Let's quantify what being on the government tit means here. The USDA says that the average SNAP recipient receives about $243 a month per individual and $460 per household. How much do you reckon a company like GE or Cargill receives from state and federal governments in the form or subsidies, grants, and tax breaks? Probably a smidge more. Should they lose rights as well?

Hell a nice chunk of Congress received PPP loans that they got to vote to forgive but that's rarely brought up here.

No, they skip the ballot box and just buy the politicians directly. Much more efficient.

I am originally from La, but a year ago, I moved to Mississippi. The biggest difference in voting in Mississippi vs La is that La uses voting machines, Mississippi uses more secure paper ballots. Both states require an ID to vote which reduces the opportunity for fraud, but I don’t know how much the voting results using voting machines can be trusted. By the way, I am an independent that voted for Reeves.
