Mitch was probably the best mayor NOLA will have this century

In a landslide. I was certain that EBR would rebuke SWB. She won in a blowout. It wasn’t even close

Since I haven't set foot in New Orleans for decades now, some people might say I shouldn't give a shite about the fate my beloved Crescent City. But they'd be wrong. Many times after I'd get off the boat after a 3 or 4-month hitch down in the Fourchon I'd tell myself that I was going to go to New Orleans and check myself into the YMCA on Lee Circle or maybe one of the rooms at the Humming Bird Lounge and hang out for a week and then head home to Georgia for a few weeks. Hell sometimes I'd splurge and go check myself into that hotel that was later the setting for that movie "Pretty Baby." Back in the late 70s and early 80s it was a little down at the heels, but still a Grand Dame of a place in whose lap I could lay my head. Anyway, I would wind up just staying in New Orleans for my entire time off and never get back to Georgia. I remember drinking a beer or two with Dr. John and Aaron Neville too. All these posts y'all post about the sad state of New Orleans is just heartbreaking to me. The Grand Old Dame with too much rouge and a heart big as Jupiter seems to be on her death bed and I'll mourn her passing. Thank y'all for letting this aging hippie express his loss.

People like these absolute dipshits will see to it. I don’t feel sorry for the people who choose to live there one bit.

Easily

All that matters to her voters is that she is black. Same thing for Baton Rouge

She's gotta pay her taxes somehow, someway. Normal folks get a job so they can pay their taxes.

Clown world.

Even with his corruption, it might be Ray Nagin.

What does that say about the leadership of New Orleans over the years?

what people do not understand is her voting base is 100% behind her. Go look at twitter. They call her queen, etc. The black community is deathly afraid of covid bc they were told it was created to kill black folk

So she has the stupid vote locked up I see.

Most of the smart people left the city. Mainly the trash that stayed. That city went to the crapper. After Katrina it never was the same? But the past decade is when things really went south. Another cleansing wouldnt help that dump

The administrative staff is a group of vastly overpaid incompetents from out of state.

She’ll win in a landslide if she runs. People thinking she won’t are dreaming or ignorant.

The vast majority of people who saw where the city is headed left over the last decade. The very few true believers in the city ever turning around that still remain have no chance.

The white guilt uptown liberals will all vote for her as will the gutter punks, bridge dwellers, treme and mid city hipsters.

They all get what they deserve. Crumbling infrastructure, failing education, crony business practices, public safety emergencies, rising crime rates, endless poverty, abortion clinics, fleeing businesses. But hey, there’s a black woman from California elected as mayor and that’s more important than anything else no matter what

Yes...

The black population will vote for her at 90% +.

Neck beards, dead folks, and man buns at 100%.

It will be “close,” but that will be for show. After the presidential election. Going forward, I expect the Dems to cheat unabated across the country.

She'll win because nobody wants to run against her. New Orleans is a shitshow and that's why nobody will run.

Lots of people saying that she’ll get re elected because she’s black but her opponent was black and a native of New Orleans..... so I’m not sure why being black is the key here.

I’d bet that her opponent for the re election will be black.

Carlos Marcellus was the best "mayor" New Orleans ever had, and that ain't no joke.
