Given the shitstorm the left threw at Gorsuch, will his future rulings be even further conservative than we first hoped?

Out of revenge? What are you getting at? If he's that spiteful he shouldn't be on the supreme court.

Probably not. Gorsuch doesn't strike me as someone who would use his power as a judge to exact revenge on his political opponents.

I would hope such pettiness is not found anywhere on the scotus.

This gets downvotes.

If he does then he really wasn't a good pick.

What makes him such a great candidate is because he rules based on the law. He does not rule based on the outcome he prefers or what he thinks is fair.

Correct, he rules with his mind not his emotions. This is a stupid thread.

I support his confirmation, but if he's so petty to be "more conservative" he isn't fit to serve on the SCOTUS.

I don't think it's about what he says at this point.

If he even remotely think this way, he has no business on the Supreme Court

Gorsuch is a man of principle. He is not a democrat.

Pretty sure this should apply to members of congress as well. You know, like starting a filibuster because you want revenge for your side's nominee not getting a hearing.

It doesn't matter really. Gorsuch is already way more conservative than Scalia and that's pretty fricking conservative.

The next nominee will be even more conservative than Gorsuch. I can't wait.

Will have no effect one way or the other. He knows that the "sh!tstorm" is because of Garland, not because of him.

I hope not.

There's no provision in the Constitution that changes based on who voted against a justice.

Quite frankly, my concern is just the opposite.

If he is perceived as a 'not legitimate' choice by at least some on the left, he may actually lean more left than he ordinarily would just to 'mellow' some of that concern.

I'm not saying he would, I'm just thinking it's more probable that if the confirmation bothered him, he will go more left than going more right.
