I don't think Canada will agree to it.

I asked ChatGPT whether a Canadian Province can succeed - and the answer was surprising:

The key reference here is the Reference re Secession of Quebec decided by the Supreme Court of Canada. The Court laid out how secession would work:

A province (like Quebec or Alberta) cannot just declare independence on its own and have it be legally valid under Canadian law.
However, if a clear majority of people in a province vote in favor of independence on a clear referendum question, then the rest of Canada would have a constitutional duty to negotiate the terms of separation.
Actual secession would still require amending the Constitution, which involves the federal government and other provinces agreeing—this is a very high bar.

After that ruling, Canada passed the Clarity Act, which gives the federal government the authority to determine whether a referendum question and result are “clear” enough to trigger negotiations.

So in practice:

Illegal path: unilateral declaration ? not recognized domestically (and likely not internationally).
Legal path: referendum ? negotiations ? constitutional amendment ? independence (if everyone agrees).

Good, so you are saying Canada would have absolutely no way to prevent this.

Surely they have enough of a military to suppress domestic issues.

If they did, I don’t think they would have used debanking against the trucker protests. I think they would have had the Mounties arrest the truckers.

They're practically in Europe, spiritually. If they continue on their current trajectory, I could see President Vance beginning construction on a Northern border wall in Jan. 2029, just to be sure.

IF Trump doesn't beat him to it.

No damn clue. If they don't it'll be a heavy price to pay for the lack of foresight.

I'd much rather see our military help Alberta become free versus jacking around with Iraq on behalf of Israel.

Wonder if they’d accept a Major League Baseball type trade?

We take Alberta. In exchange they get Portland and Minneapolis. We can even toss in a “player to be named later”…Seattle, maybe?

I'm all over this -- even willing to throw Detroit in for icing.

I'll gladly concede the point. Western European central banking clans/families are absolutely responsible for the fall of Europe to invading savages.

By God, if something as venerable as the SEC must endure conference realignment as an unsavory reality, then our republic should be open to the same.

Allow East Oregon & E Washington state their own secession votes to separate from the weirdoes on the left coast & possibly form their own state. Ditto for non-coastal California.

Michigan may very well be irredeemable, but they should be given an opportunity to cast off that sentient largemouth bass in a hijab that was installed in Dearborn via "Palestine".

Without Alberta, Canada completely collapses. The revenue from Alberta pays the bribes to Quebec to keep them from going independent. If Quebec secedes, Ontario loses its access to the Sea via the St. Lawrence seaway. Ontario would also be completely cut off from both the Maritimes and British Columbia.

This really is understated. Without Alberta, the rest of Canada is effectively so separated from BC that they would be better off seceding as well.

Alberta is not only responsible for almost all of Canada's oil production but all of their land-based east-west transit (electricity, oil, roadways) starts in or goes through Alberta to get to the rest of the country.

As such, Ottawa will never grant secession.

Do they have the political will to get into a civil war over it? The petition drive being so successful so quickly makes me think it may come to that.

No one has fallen, don't exaggerate. On the contrary, all European banks have now frozen all communist (russian, chinese, and iranian) funds.
However, the COM-INTERN (including American communist Party) is strong – the battle will be long and grueling.
