Wrong. It isn't replacing blue collar workers. Digital controls already replace plant workers 30+ years ago Stine is only good for testifying at county, and city meetings for comedic relief

The question was why the US was pushing so hard for data centers, that's a totally different topic. I stuck with the topic because I'm capable of having an objective discussion about specific aspects of a topic without feeling the need to make it all about me by trying to derail it into my personal biases.

It's not about you BARD but will affect you if they are able to continue to build thousands more data centers. We all need to know what all those NDA's contain that city council members are signing and bypassing their constituents to ram these thru before anyone even knows agreements have been made.

The first data center was built in the 40s.
What's happening is an obvious attack on data centers since none of you cared about this shite before.
Like Tariffs. There was a coordinated effort to make you people believe something we already had in place was going to cause another great depression.

Speculative bubbles can only survive as long as they can tie more businesses into the capital flow. The data center build out is a way to get the bubble out of the tech sector loop and get hard industry involved. The same thing happened in the dotcom bubble with fiber optics getting built to nowhere.
People joke about China building cities for no one and trains to nowhere but we are plenty capable of the same idiocy within the capital system.

Data is needed as the tech grows
1. We can have them built in USA and have some control over the information
2. They will be built in Chyna instead and give them all the data about you

Big tech would love nothing more than to turn all tech industry that exists under their level of scale into renters to their tech. That is why they push LLM based code assistants and agents and cloud based hosting. They want every business in the world to pay glorified feudal dues just to operate in technology. It is meant to create a hard barrier of entry into their class.

Is it a data center like Amazon would use to expand their web service or is it a data center that wants to develop AI? It's sold to communities with tax breaks and jobs, jobs, jobs. In reality once completed, they use tons of water and extreme amounts of energy. I would bet energy costs go up for everyone. And those jobs, jobs, jobs, will find out those are constructions jobs and once completed, construction jobs go away and a couple of hundred people that aren't local get those jobs. But, on the AI side, we are in a race with China but they will just steal what we develop as always. It's a conundrum for me.

Not sure, but as long as these data centers keep advancing AI, I don’t really have a problem with it. My truck broke down yesterday and AI pinpointed the problem - a bad electronic throttle body. Showed me how to replace it and everything. I didn’t even know what that part was prior to AI’s diagnosis

More and more, as I see which clients we are signing to use our data centers, I can tell you that it's not to compete with China. But we spend a large amount with a public affairs company that is pushing our preferred narrative. We pay for posts from influential social media personalities. It's been our best ROI.
How will this adversely affect people to the point you would need security? Please tell us more.
