Why so many mentions of Heather Heyer but nothing about Kate Steinle when it happened?

All over the news, on late night TV, on FB etc are posts and pics about the women who was killed by a white supremacist but not one mention anywhere besides Fox News when Kate Steinle was shot randomly by and illegal immigrant. I know it doesn't fit the agenda but it's sickening if you ask me. Anyone agree with this?

Because one was just a murder and the other a hate crime?

Yeesh.

You could have said because one was the climax of a publicized hostile situation and was caught on TV, but you had to go full hack.

One was a politically-based murder that happened while half the country was tuned in to what was going on in Charlottesville.

The other was a random murder where the guy happened to be an illegal immigrant.

Is the latter less tragic? No. But it's very easy to see why one was a bigger news story.

Might have something to do with the 20 other injuries and the horrific way it happened. What is your deal with Kate?

I mean one occured during an already newsworthy event, and was caught in multiple cameras, with videos and pictures of bodies being tossed into the air.

Some events are more newsworthy than others, but that doesn't make it any more or less tragic. And going by that, it's sickening you're only focusing on one tragedy and not countless others that have occured over the last few days.

just a murder

I'm sure the Steinle family will take solace in that. You people are sick in the head.

The Steinle family has also asked for people to stop politicizing her death.

I am not focusing on 1 tragedy. I'm just stating and example.

And they still don't get why they lost and will continue to lose

And apparently over the last few days Heyer's death is more newsworthy (nationally) than Stienle's death, but both are much more newsworthy than the thousands of deaths that have occured during the time span.

I think the more appropriate question is why is this guy considered a representative of a group where the BLM cop-killers are not?

It's tragic.

But it's similarly fricked up to invoke every crime committed by illegal immigrants in an attempt to brand the entire group undesirable and a threat to (white) citizens.

You don't count it as a hate crime? You don't think it was motivated by prejudice?

Just like that lunatic who shot the politicians playing baseball committed a hate crime.

Because there's at least one picture of him standing in solidarity with them while holding a shield with a symbol for fascism on it.

Depends, if this guy was in a white supremacist group that marches around with Nazi flags, he probably is a fair representative.

If we're trying to extrapolate that to all of the "alt right" it gets murkier, and obviously becomes total bullshite by the time we get to Trump supporters or Republicans.

Same for Dallas I think. Does Micah or whatever speak for BLM? Probably not that well. He probably represents a core element of BLM, but it's an unorganized movement with plenty of normal, if perhaps mistaken, people in it.

For starters she was murdered in cold blood while minding her own business.

What about all the murders in Chicago that nobody seems to speak out on.
