What leverage does Trump have to convince Putin to give up what took him 3 years to get and just go home? Compare that to ukraines leverage
Because Putin has what he already wants. The port in Crimea and the portion of land in the Donbas where the ethnic Russians are that the Azov Battalion was attacking from 2014 to 2022.

Correct now was that all he wanted at the start of the invasion probably not. But that’s what he wants now and whether we like it or not that’s what he will most likely keep.

I prefer friends that don’t take advantage of our country, tax the shite out our products and try to impose speech regulations on US businesses. I mean with friends like that who needs enemies?

Just give me one example. And not that after Ukraine Russia plans on rolling into Europe because if that’s the intel he is given the he’s right to deny that cause it’s just dumb
Or maybe the intelligence white paper written in 2005 by two guys that both eventually became CIA Directors that said if we violate the agreement made in the 1990’s and incorporate Ukraine and/or Georgia into NATO that Russia would see that as an act of war. Then in 2022 Kamala went to Munich and shot off her mouth about accepting Ukraine into NATO and like 7 days later Russia invaded…..

I hear what you are saying, believe me.
I just think you’re wrong, Possibly because you’ve been led to believe that it’s better to be isolated than have allies. Or maybe you think that the US being aligned with Russia is more beneficial to the US. I won’t speak for you on that.
But, I just don’t trust them.
And I’ll assume you think I’ve been brainwashed.
So we’re just not gonna agree. But at least that’s a rational argument to have.

What’s Ukraine going to do for us? Hurricane clean up? Let us drive a plane through their airspace?

I don’t trust Russia either. I don’t think at this point it’s about trusting them or not. Bottom line is this thing has gotta end and unfortunately it’s gonna end with Putin keeping mostly what he wants because he holds the upper hand. If he doesn’t get what he wants he has no problem continuing the war and turning it into a true war of attrition.

That friends comment was not really so much about Ukraine specifically as it is about the strength (or death) of NATO.
Who would’ve thought that Russia could break up NATO so easily.

Russia hasn’t broken up NATO.
Globalism is a struggling ideology. It’s not producing the results it promised.

This is what I think as well. Putin gets to say he repelled NATO from Ukraine, expanded their territory to rescue ethnic Russians, and secured Crimea.
The globalists get to keep their plunder and develop war torn Ukraine.
The Ukrainian people are decimated and have lost all influence in their own country. They have been conquered one way or another.

Europe might want to try to fight Russia on their own.
But the US cutting off intelligence is trying to hurt Ukraine’s ability to defend themselves.
That is a totally different story. Gives the appearance of Putin and Trump collaborating.

It absolutely hampers their ability to defend themselves. And that’s what Trump had to do to get Ukraine to start peace talks. If the intel, money, and equipment would’ve continued to be sent then there’s no telling how long this would last. Putin has no problem sending troops into the Ukrainian meat grinder. And like I said he would’ve turned it into a true war of attrition. Which most likely would’ve ended in Russia controlling all of Ukraine or at the very least turning it into a puppet state like Belarus.

Ok, Globalism is failing. Open societies get screwed by their weaknesses. Muslim invasions, etc.
That doesn’t explain Trump’s infatuation with dictators though.
And it doesn’t explain why so many countries have rushed to join NATO over the years.

Putin plans to turn Ukraine into a puppet state.
If he can’t accomplish that, he’ll just try to get another 20 percent down the road.
His own words are that he doesn’t believe Ukraine is really an independent country.

And that may very well be true. But better the enemy you know than the one you don’t. You know what he’s got now so end with that. Cause if it continues he’s gonna take a lot more.

The world isn't as big as you think. There are two economic/military superpowers and one military superpowers. Eventually, two will team up to take out the other, at least economically.
Which would you prefer?
A. USA alliance with Russia
or,
oh, wait.... that's the only choice. No way in hell China allies with the USA against Russia.
Trump knows this. Imagine a world, if you can, where Russia moves to a more Democratic government and becomes a valuable trading partner and ally. Now try to do the same with China. You can't. You know the they are the real threat to the USA, so why can't you understand what Trump is doing? Trump is trying to make the world a better market. Or China will end up ruling everyone, at least economically, if not militarily.
This depends on the premise that Russia is still a superpower economically and militarily… Trump may find it prudent to ally with them, but they may not be any longer
