People die every day, quit being a fricking pussy. This virus isn’t worth destroying the economy.

The medical experts on this forum, for weeks, joked about how the flu was worse.

I'm willing to bet you (maybe a sig quote of the winner's choice for 30 days) that the flu will kill more Americans this season, 2019/2020, than COVID-19 will kill in 2020.

Deal?

If you say no deal, then STFU with your repetitive stupid posts like this one.

You didn't have to tell us. We all know you don't understand.

Yep. You're definitely a nurse. Thanks for confirming that.

Like most nurses, you think your small amount of knowledge makes you more qualified than the real experts.

We're fortunate enough not to have you and the nurse making decisions for the country.

I agree. If Millennials and maybe some younger Gen X are asymptomatic or get very mild symptoms and can self recover, why can't we go about our lives

As long as you agree to die in The street if you do happen to need hospital care at this time for any reason, I agree.

Nah.
All the respect in the world for nurses, but that's not my gig.

Keep on though. You are making quite the fool of yourself.

Then you're something even worse. I'd bet you're in medicine to some level, and you have even less of an understanding than most nurses.

Maybe admin or a tech.

Or more than likely, you're a nurse, and you pretend to be a doctor on the Internet.

Can you go 3 weeks without a fricking paycheck?

I really am starting not to believe the crap the government is feeding us regarding this thing.

If you can't, you're an idiot, and I hope you learn something useful from this.

Right.
Keep going Einstein. You're doing so well.

You could be learning about convalescent sera as a bridge to mAbs harvesting.

But no . . . Instead you, as a layman, somehow suppose a label of "nurse" is insulting.

Correct.

The media and govt better hope that when this is all done the death counts EXCEEDS THE INFLUENZA DEATH NUMBERS ANNUALLY IN THE USA

OTHERWISE THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE A MAJOR ISSUE ON THEIR HANDS

I absolutely get both sides on this issue and am not advocating no controls whatsoever but the thing about this is is that by doing what we are doing there is no way to ever know if it was right or wrong if the death toll is low.

We will never know if millions would have died in the streets because we are taking the precautions to prevent that. On the other side of this when we get there the politicians will say “yes the death rate is low-BECAUSE OF WHAT I DID!”

Wrong question.

The question is, could we lower "body count" and at the same time maintain the economy?

I’ll say the number that would get my attention would be somewhere in 3-5% range of the ENTIRE 330,000,000 population of the US

So somewhere between 990,000 - 16,500,000

You realize that on average, 2,600,000 Americans die every year. So the lower end of your range is roughly 1.25 times an average year and the upper end is roughly 6.5 times an average year (I just eyeballed that math, didn't put it into a calculator).

Do you have any idea what would happen to the economy if 6.5 TIMES the number of Americans who died in an average year died from this? Heck if double that number did?

All you've done is prove you're an a-hole.

Go away.

The system can't run on a shutdown, it collapses. So, I agree with you in spirit, but let's be honest.. commerce is about to break in a serious way.

You could be advising our leadership or making these decisions, but instead you're trying to convince some random dude on the Internet that your opinion is worth listening to.

That's because your knowledge and understanding is inflated. You think you're more in the know than most because you understand the basics and people ignore your screaming about it.

You're probably doing the same thing with your friends on Facebook. Your coworkers hate you. Your husband probably hates you, too.
