Because the Presidential election is over.
NYC is still a major hub for all things news as that's where much of their corporate powers are located. As such they were determined to get Trump out of office, so any possible negatives were shelved until after the election (see also the FBI investigation into Hunter).

Because it's obvious that he legit killed those elderly with his mandate.
