The last I got through USPS arrived yesterday, eight days after it shipped and I payed for 2-day shipping.

The package before that came from Miami to south Louisiana but had to take a week long trip through Puerto Rico.

USPS is hot garbage on it’s best day, but it came no doubt handle millions of votes on time.

I suppose it's a good thing that this didn't happen then, isn't it?

All of that sorting equipment decommissioning has been scheduled for some time.

The letter to the mail-in balloting states telling them to provide more time for the ballots to arrive to voters, and for voters to send them back went out before the new Postmaster General took over.

This "Drumph Is Killing the USPS!" narrative is just their latest, flailing attempt at creating drama where there is none.

You mean continuing a policy/process that was started several years ago? A policy of removing mail sorting machines that sort flat items (envelopes/postcards) that have seen a volume decrease since email/text/social media and replacing them with package/parcel sorting machines to more efficiently handle the increase of bulky items that have seen an increase since the rise of Amazon/online shopping/prescriptions by mail?

why are we doing this?

For one....any changes that are occurring were decided upon over a year ago.

#2.....because the USPS is a shite show. Be happy you get your mail and it’s not lost.

#3....to further show how they are a shite show...their years of operations have resulted in a massive operational budget deficit....would any private company be able to continue operating like this?

No they wouldn’t, so shut the frick up. You know they suck, you know changes have to be made. Stop politicizing this BS. Amazing how no one says shite about the USPS publicly when they lose their packages and mail in years past...but now that it’s election year when DIMS are pushing for major mail in voting all of a sudden it’s an issue.

You don’t think taking away their equipment was The best move....cool I’m sure you are fully in tune with their internal operations and how “efficient” this equipment is. Seriously, you don’t know shite, I don’t know shite about their equipment either....what I do know is this was no issue before and now it is. They have sucked for years, but now it’s an issue.

“People can’t get their social security checks”.....when checks stoped getting mailed out 7 years ago....no shite your not getting checks in the mail anymore you bunch of dumb fricks.

No issues where I live. I got multiple birthday cards for my son this week and all have taken 2-3 days from all over the US.

If you have something time critical, never choose USPS for delivery. Miami is a notorious black hole within the USPS system due to the amount of traffic from/to Central and S America, and the sort crashes a lot.

It's ridiculous that mail is taking up to 9 days to arrive (versus the usual 5 to 6. Even USPS priority is taking 3 days+ in some cases.

This is becoming nauseating. USPS has struggled with timely deliveries for years/decades. Dems all of sudden have newfound concern. UPS/FEDEX are always used for timely deliveries. Why would anyone want to count on the mail for submitting their vote (aside from fraud).

its been this way for about 4 months at least.

If something comes through atlanta or Chicago heading my way, it stalls.

The other ways are pretty clear

Okay that explains it. All of my products go through Atlanta. It's the largest hub for the South. I try to buy from other locations when possible. But too far Northeast I hit the same problem. And anything from California is almost guaranteed to take almost 2 work weeks
