re: Why is it that MSY and ATL's TSA lines were so much longer than all the other airports?

I’m not sure why. I’m flying out of Cleveland instead of my little Akron-Canton airport today and go to checking. TSA lines in CLE are peaking at about 15 minutes. Flying back from Newark and they are talking over an hour long.

I think it has a lot to do with how shitty the city is to begin with.

Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta is the busiest airport in the world lol

It’s not really noticeably slower than other airports ive been to as far as speed to get you through the line person by person. The difference is there is just so many people.

If they are staffed proportionate to the volume of travelers, and the rate of call-outs are evenly distributed, then there should be no problems with some airports being significantly understaffed more than others.

But at the top of the list we have Atlanta and New Orleans. They are not both the largest airports. Maybe there’s some other explanation.

The callouts are bad, but the switch to Real ID has not helped lines

Lot of retards have been showing up to the airport without a Real ID or passport as the alternative

HOU

Bush (IAH) is the bad one; Hobby (HOU) usually isn't bad.

IAH is currently only running TSA at 2 of the 5 terminals. Wait times reported on their site 3.5-4.5 hrs.

HOU on has 2 terminals and both are open with under 10 min wait.

Pulling the times from live stats on fly2houston.com.
