Why is diminishing the 4th amendment acceptable, but not the 2nd

I am curious as to why some on here are so opposed to the idea of diminishing the second amendment in the name of security. Especially considering that the 4th amendment was sacrificed for essentially the same purpose and was cheered on at the time and repeatedly, even within the last few weeks (Patriot Act, FISA, 702, asset forfeiture, various SCOTUS cases, etc.).
Why is sacrificing your rights for security acceptable for some things, but not others?

Don't like that BS either...
Just another reason to hate/vote against the Uniparty.

How about we just stop adding stuff to the bill of rights that aren’t in them. Like the “separation of church and state”.

Most Americans (left and right) dont seem to have a problem with it (including a significant portion of this board).

Are you ever on this board?
I never see ANYBODY supporting ANY of these things.

Because the unreasonable searches and seizures are only against the bad guys.

Trump reissuing FISA with no amendments, even though he was aware of its abuses, was conveniently ignored by many

Have you not been paying attention to the outrage over the Obama admin abuses of the FISA process?

There was a large contingent of "patriots" that supported Patriot Act, 702, and their associated renewals, not to mention some on this board that still support asset forfeiture.

Yet no outrage about the current admin reissuing the same process with no amendments to try and fix the abuses?

Just because they got caught weaponizing it doesnt change that it was passed emphatically by the right.
Bad laws are bad laws regardless of who passes or enforces them.

Everything that associates with the state becomes corrupt. Not separating church and state has had terrible consequences for us. Forcing morality by using guns and locking people in cages is a far cry from Christ-like

I would like to go back to 2015 when the USA Freedom act was passed and get a general consensus about how many were in favor then. I suspect it was a good plurality of this board.

Why is diminishing the 4th amendment acceptable,

It's not to the Conservatives. It is to the left.
