The issue with Europe having different values than us, is that we allow them that luxury, by paying their way through this world. I could have a fine ski boat, and support a whole lot of homeless folks, if my neighbor was paying my mortgage.

And notice how i never said being patrotic was bad? I just said i dont have an impulse to put down other countries.
Lets put it another way, as bad as you think those Western Europeans are, they have enough people that vote to maintain medicare for all style programs and other state sponsored programs for their country.
Its "equivalent exchange" in the big picture. Yes, the US is a tech and economic powerhouse, but mostly because our priorities arent on the healthcare of our citizens. It is on maintaining global control.
Nothing wrong with that to some people. But we all need to acknowledge that being a superpower has a cost.

No our priority is to maintain the freedom and independence to not allow the force of government to compel us to pay for other people’s healthcare. There has been a sea change somewhere along the way. Ronald Reagan restored pride in the country. We were the best and kicked everyone’s butt around. When he left office, pride started to wane a little. Clinton and Obama wanted to tear the country down to ensure electability through people being dependent on the state.
We need to restore the swagger. Do away with opreme numero dose and Spanish signs in Home Depot.
