re: Why is American History split into Black and White?

It’s all to bolster the “self-exteem” of people who’ve been taught they really don’t have a reason to have self-exteem.
And it's not just race. American history books feature lots of women who did nothing just to make things equal.
Inventing the first hand cranked ice cream maker is digging way too deep.

I'm sorry, I thought this was a serious thread. I just scanned the other responses and this is a circle jerk thread where right wingers say stupid shite.
Sorry I jumped in.

Stick to the alphabet of weirdo's threads. You'll fit in better there.

Because there is history during slavery and after slavery and beyond, that’s the black and white of American History can’t hide the racist past by banning subjects in school that highlight the slavery past and struggles in the present

“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well.”

The problem has been that events relevant to the history of black persons in America have not made it into our traditional history books.

Do you understand what history is as a discipline? Because it doesn't seem like you do.

I contend history is history, just as time is time.
I'd claim otherwise; That the Victors have always written / re-written, edited / revised the annals "History" AND "Timeline."
In 2008, were "The Keys" to America "ownership" exchanged? It sure seemed that way.
President-Elect 0bama made some unique statements. Did he and his cohorts somehow officially "adjust" not only "history and time," but claim to be THE facilitating factor of the following:
LINK ]"We are five days away from [b]fundamentally transforming the United States of America."
Well...DID he do it? HOW did he do it? Is he STILL doing it? Did, "Fundamentally Change" mean, "Jackhammer"?
There was this promise made as well. Whether he serious, millions BELIEVED it. (Were they under some kind of magic spell?)
quote:
"The moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal!"?
Here we are, 15 years later. Was any of that magic/miracle "messiah" work achieved?
From June 2008:
180 degrees from "truth"?
quote:
"This was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth!"
Can you also remember whether THIS has come true? (or a full 180 degrees from truth?)
quote:
"I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless!"
Or THIS?:
quote:
"This is our moment. This is our time. Our time to turn the page on the policies of the past. Our time to bring new energy and new ideas to the challenges we face. Our time to offer a new direction for the country we love."
~ B. Hussein 0bama

quote:
"I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children...we restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment – this was the time – when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals."
So... how did this "History" and "Timeline" turn out?

That in of itself is a category though. Lightly touching on topics to get a broad survey is a specific method intended to cover as much ground in temporal terms as possible. It is also not optimal if you are actually interested in history.
I’m just thinking of it in general terms, from junior high through the survey courses in college. Point being, no ethnic group was singled out for exclusion or inclusion in what events transpired through the centuries.

Why is black listed first?

most discussions quickly devolve into tribalism "my team" versus "your team."
This statement / observation is 100% true.
Not even well-meaning Conservatives and Christians are immune. Discussions and compromises take effort, courage and humility.
Among certain demographics, "tribes," and ideologies, "compromise" and "peace" is impossible because "Differences" = "ENEMY".
Ideologues in goobermint, the academe and media are the biggest troublemakers and dividers.

But if you progressed any further in history courses, you'd get categorizations along several different lines, including ethnic, racial, national, temporal and on and on. It is about a benign thing I as I can imagine.

Most of the "His Story", we are taught, is built on lies and half-truths.

Tra-la-la to Victory! How to lose the Battle
My nisei father was a senior (by age and training) combat soldier from the very start of the U.S. campaign on the European Front of World War II to after its horrific end. As a trainer in charge of discipline with the 100th infantry battalion of Hawaii-based Japanese American troops, my dad Ken participated in the landing at Oran, Morocco, arriving in time for the tank battle at Kasserine Pass, one of the biggest clashes of armor in WWII. The operation’s commander Lt. Gen. Lloyd Fredendall had an excellent strategy, which was for his corps of M3 tanks to speedily cross over the Atlas Mountains and take German commander Erwin Rommel and his Afrikakorps by surprise. Unfortunately, the Germans were waiting at the top of the pass, firing at will at the sitting ducks below. The Allies suffered 10,000 dead and destruction of 183 tanks, as opposed to German losses of 2,000 dead and 34 tanks, plus a bunch of auxiliary Italians and Arabs.
quote:
After the stunned Germans retreated, my father tracked the Negro cowards to a nearby town, where with a few days a black trooper named Lawrence Till from Money, Mississippi, was being accused of multiple rapes of the local Italian women. My father beat him to death in front of the other deserters, and his battered remains were sent to a cemetery for dishonorably traitors in France. That, by the way, was the father of the celebrated young attempted rapist Emmett Till, the boy murdered and dumped in a swamp by outraged local men as depicted in the film “Till” produced by Whoopi Goldberg. In wartime, cowardly rapists must be put down hard so as not to add to the demoralization that throws the odds in favor of the many enemies.

You don’t remember Black History Month? It’s not exactly a 21st century thing. See the Booker T Washington quote above. This racial division of history has been going on for a long time. This generation, for whatever reason, wants to self-create another Civil Rights Movement and set the clock back 60 years
