The amount of talk you hear in the media trying to overplay racism is becoming pretty obviously fabricated

Are there still racists out there? Sure. But with a caveat: they don't have any power.

I remember a black woman saying that blacks can't be racist because they have no power. Well here is the thing with the white racists: most of them are complete idiots and have no power.

The guy that's screaming white power lives in a trailer park and is on welfare. He can't hold anyone down. His/her own racism is likely fueled by some internal disappointment in himself that he blames on other people (different races)

People with any sort of power whether it be small business owners, large business owners, politicians and the like just aren't racist these days. And to the minimal extent that some of them might be they mostly just keep it in their head with no consequence to anyone else.

And yeah there are probably still a few racists left with some power but they're so small in numbers it really doesn't effect the outcomes of anything.

Convenient store clerk doesn't like black people? Who gives a shite? What are they going to do for you?

Show me another place with a white majority where minorities from all races have achieved more than they have in this country.

Yes.

It's always actions that should count.

Even if someone has racist beliefs, if they are behaving reasonably toward everyone then so what.

We aren't supposed to police thoughts in America.

I agree.

I'll add: the claims and "demands" are nebulous. Once it was: voting rights, access to public schools ( deseg), right to sit anywhere on the bus, deseg of water fountains, etc. Specific demands - measurable and verifiable.

Now , it is "equity" and "privilege". Squishy and unverifiable. It is my only issue with the NFL kneeling. I don't get bothered by it. But, there is no "end point". No way to measure when one has succeeded.

That too

And it might be a sign that they know racism is gasping for its last breath when so much of it has to be fabricated

And as long as someone or some group has more you can always claim that things aren't equitable.

Exactly what I was thinking before I opened this thread.

100 years ago the POTUS was openly racist. 50 years ago most southern governors were openly racist. Today, the guy at the oil change place might be racist at home, but he better keep it under wraps at work.

We are collectively blinded to the extreme amounts of black against white racism that exist and which results in violent acts daily across the country.

The continuing narrative of blacks as victims is the most corrosive force our society faces, for whites and especially for blacks.

Charles Blow of the NYT just said on CNN that ALL Trump supporters are racist. This was after a member of the press demanded a guarantee yesterday that President Trump has never said ni**er.

When Blow made this statement three commentators and the hosts then agreed strongly with Blow that ALL Trump supporters are racist.

The left has lost the their minds.

I disagree.

Half of this country with their media propaganda machine spend a tremendous amount of time covering and reshaping that exact narrative to somehow make the rest of us believe we are not seeing what we are in fact seeing.

No one is blind to it, we just get called racist if we point it out.

It's one of the points Ben Shapiro makes often. When people ask him about "systemic racism," he always says (paraphrasing)...

"show me where the systemic oppression is and I will be right there by your side fighting it. But you can't just say 'there's systemic oppression' with nothing concrete behind it. If there's no concrete problem to solve, then there is nothing me, you or anyone else can do about it."

They never have any good examples of concrete "systemic racism."

That's a better way than I have ever been able to articulate it.

Enjoy the up vote, you have earned it.

This is a good example of an opinion from someone who most likely never studied Sociology in depth. Class conflict is an economic issue. There is always conflict between groups competing for the same jobs and same money source.

The gas station attendant racist, if they exist, would most definitely be more likely to discriminate against someone they saw as a threat to their livelihood.

Real racism is actionable hatred based upon racial prejudice.

Nothing wrong with being prejudiced, it is simply a sorting or labeling technique used to reduce danger. What is wrong is racist behavior as a display of hatred.

I don't see a lot of racism in my daily life. Then again, I don't walk down the street whistling Dixie in the L9 after dark.

They can look at the rally in DC...

How many showed up for supremacy? 25-30? Out of a country of 340 million?

Give me a break. It's dead. Over. Done.

Anyone can cherry pick instances on any topic to support and argument, but by and large it's dead.

It's just the thank thing some people have left to lean on... Cnn for example. They have nothing else. I'd hate to be the news anchors and have to go home and tell your children you like for a fricking living.

What a life.

Whatever it amounts to, it certainly doesn’t counterbalance the pro-black discrimination carried out by the government, in the form of race-base quotas and lower standards in universities, government agencies and in government contracts awarded to minority businesses. If 2 people put forth equal effort in America, it is far better to be black than white.
