Why I cannot support Trump’s comment

I am pretty pro-Trump. I really believe he has done a lot of good things despite the constant barrage from the left. However I was always of the belief that he needs to reel in his comments. I cannot support his comment about those countries, whether it is true or not. This is but one reason.

If we can't speak frankly and honestly about problems, we'll never solve them. Insensitivity is sometimes the medicine needed to spur folks to action.
You know whose fault Haiti is a shithole? Haitians.
You know who could make Haiti into a tropical tourist paradise - a relatively prosperous one? Haitians.

Haitian Americans is not the same as Haiti the country

It was a closed door meeting. Do you think this is the first president to say something like that in one of these meetings? This is just a means to try and attack from a new angle.

So you would rather he lie in private, straight-forward discussions?
Congrats on being part of the PC crowd.

Yeah what do you think lbj said behind closed doors.

Whether he truly said it or not?

That is correct. But irrelevant.
“I represent Haitian-Americans”. Clearly, was not “speaking frankly and honestly”. As I stated, I am MAGA, mostly. However he does need to reel in his comments, especially when his own statements directly contradict him.

Yeah, I know. And he was
Not re-elected.
Something about his “bunghole”

Why do progressives assume that a comment (that may or may not have even been said) about "shite hole countries" is a slide against blacks?

He is supposed to be a negotiator, negotiating immigration behind close doors. Strong arm tactics served him well in real estate and other ventures and that is great. But this type of approach, whether true or not, it’s not going to win him people during negotiation. I believe he could get so much more done and with better optics and go down as one of the greatest ever if he just filtered At least IMO.
He can still speak truthfully while using some sort of filter. You don’t call your alcoholic brother in law who is hung over at home a piece of shite alcoholic at the family Thanksgiving dinner.

This is what globalism has done for us...

Yet you didn't condemn this thread you posted in just 1 day ago.

First, can you prove that he even said that? It was a closed meeting. Second, his words were coarse (that is his particular style). Were they inaccurate?
He absolutely rubs me the wrong way. But this is much angst and handwringing over nothing.

You mean the president who became so unpopular he refused to run for re-election?
Posted on 1/12/18 at 7:22 am to MrSpock
He does represent Hatian Americans. Because they are Americans. Doesn't mean he has to support the idea of letting more in....nor is it contradictory for him to believe the country of Haiti is a shitthole. It is. (Again, assuming he made the comme t...)

Why was he unpopular?
Damn kid, do you even context?

I don’t know. I am not a prog . I typically vote conservative. Those kinds of things don’t really bother me.
